yeah its your throwout bearing for sure. no questions asked... had this problem with many trannies. just replace that or get a better tranny.

mine made the same kind of whinning sound just got the throwout and pivot bearing replaced and poof no more nasty yucky sounds coming out. As long as its only making sounds when your foot is off the clutch then thats prolly the problem. if not then its your tranny.

Ok guys it is NOT the throwout bearing! The throwout bearing ONLY makes noise when your foot IS on the clutch. It IS most likely your input bearing. That will make noise anytime the input shaft is spinning. To replace the input bearing it is not necessary to rebuild the entire trans since the input bearing is right at the front, it is however reccomended to rebuild the entire trans. I think I need to make a FAQ for tranny noises. Everytime there is a thread about a tranny noise no matter when the noise happens everyone automatically points to the throwout bearing like it is some miracle fix to any noise. This is SERIOUSLY getting ANNOYING fighting off everyone on threads like these.

Dude you really need to invest in a dictionary so it's not so hard to read your posts. Like everyone stated it's either your tob or tranny going out. Google it they're like $30-$40.

Throwout bearing is pretty cheap labor is the bitch part. Either do it yourself or pay about $200 just to change it. Nothing serious but will eventually need to be repaired. I just got annoyed with the sounds that why i got it changed.

FAQ is posted guys. Let's stop this "every trans noise is the throwout bearing" non-sense.

Since we are on the subject, I have a whining noise as well but it only happens when I have my foot off the clutch and in gear. For some reason my car only moves very slow, it's like its not kicking into gear correctly. Could my tranny be out of fluid?
Crap didn't realize this thread was 5 months old....sorry!
