If you stock headgasket 20psi MAX. I just ran 20psi on my 2871R for the past year and have been running 14 before that for a year and a half and it just blew last week. So 2 1/2 years of 14+ PSI and it finally gave. I only ran 20 on the track though but it was fun for sure! :)

i did not change the head gasket.
also i was thinking between 14-16psi but more is ok???? what are these motors good for safely?
statik

you can safely run 18psi on that turbo, i wouldn't run anymore, however you didn't mention any fuel mods, but im assuming you just left them out

I run mine at 1 bar = 14.7 psi for max boost with stock head gasket to be on the safe side. If you haven't already put in some rocker arm stopper, then you should. Its worth every penny especially for these sr motors.

19 psi is going to pop that headgasket.. no dout, i tell everyone i do a swap for.. DO gasket and studs.
i could prolly hold 15-16 allday, but i play it safe. i wouldnt go past 14

NO, 280 would be a good number, along with 270 @ 16psi on a DDD. Get that thing tuned.

I would say that boost doesn't blow a head gasket here, but if thats all it's making, it's probably detonating or something.

Boost it to whatever your fuel can handle...310hp ish will start to max out those injectors

This is Tuned by AMSperformance by chris. our ignition system was not giving out a great signal so we had to gap it down to a .015 gap and after that was when we started getting better response from the car. also these #'s were made after about an hour and thirty mins on the dyno.
also this was with the greddy e-manage ultimate

update! This was 250HP 259TQ @ 15psi i just took the car out and did some pull and it only hit 15psi. so now is this good #'s for 15psi after being on the dyno for 1hr and 30mins before the pulls?

Not really, T25s can hit 250whp, non-ballbearing T28s can hit 270-280whp, S15 turbos should be able to hit 300-320whp. I smell a boost leak...and also spark plugs gapped all the way down to .015??? Something aint right in your ignition, might wanna start check your ignitor chip, coilpacks and the grounding wires for the coilpacks.

^^^^ i know that the coils are going bad thats why we had to lower the gap to .025 we were s'pose to be at a .030 gap. we are thinking of getting the split fire coils. will that make that big of a difference in power?
I did a boost check b4 i had the car tune and there was none.

How did you check for leak? Did you bust out a an air compressor and pressurized all the lines? I still say you have a leak, thats alot of power missing.

15 psi max, to be safe!

Honestly, no one can really tell you what the max boost should be. It really depends on your car. Some stock SRs run really strong, and some rebuilt SR with supposedly top shelf parts run like crap.
I know you listed the parts you have, but it depends on the quality of the parts themselves. For example, your junkyard MAF obviously isn't going to work as well as a new one or even a good used one. I don't know what you have so I can't comment on the quality of your parts.
I would say go to a reputable tuner (AMS?) and get all the bugs straighten out before you start turning up the boost. Just put a dollar sign sticker next to the boost controller to remind yourself :)
All the comments above assume you have a motor in good tune. Obviously if your motor is on its last leg then it's not going to apply.

yes. took off the filter added an end cap with a valve on it then i used the air compressor to check the pressure in the system.

thanks for the reply!
i thought you guys would know who is AMS. AMS is the tuners who have the fastest (8.56 @ 168MPH) EVO. & the fastest time attack evo http://www.amsperformance.com/main.php
also the tuner that tuned my car has a built 240 ka-t that runs 10's and is an AT. this is his 240 and he tuned it and also my car http://www.club240.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38846
the z32 maf i have is a new one. and my parts all have who it is by next to them. so i don't think my parts are that bad. but i do know that the coild are going bad and wanted to know if that makes a big difference.

b/c i like to to hear many different points of veiws. and also he is on vacation now which means i have no more contact with him till next year. and since this is a 240 forum i would like to see how other sr owners feel or think.
and no worries no offense taken. i really like knowing what i should be looking out for and what to double check.
like that one guy said about the boost leak. which i will re-check again so i can be triple sure i don't have one. and also as the guy said about ignition i knew there was one but it also helps to be reasured
so feel free to give, critic the car i have tough skin and take everything into consideration to get the best out of my car and if that means needing to hear what i did wrong or what i can do better will help me out.;
again thanks for all the feed back. and i will post up a vid of the dyno run and the chart when i have time at home
