Ok, I did a search, and a couple posts said that I needed 300ZX front spindles/hubs and others said I just needed the S14 SE front spindles/hubs. I have a base 4 lug right now. I am getting the S14 SE rear hubs and rotors, 300ZX front calipers and rotors, and whatever I need for a front spindle/hub set. Also, does anyone know the exact fittings I need so that I don't have to buy the damn stainless ones from PDM for $100 (biggest rip-off ever). TIA

No. The stainless lines from PDM are not ripoffs. They are a necessity. z32 brake calipers have a different fitting than 240sx calipers, and z32 lines have different connectors than the 240sx chassis has. Anyway... you'll need them, so get them.

You can also get the lines from cparkpowertrix (i think thats it). He has a gb goin for the 300zx upgrade, and Im sure he'd sell the lines alone. Not sure of the price, but all the stuff he had seemed to be a pretty good deal. Just dont forget you will need rims to clear the Z brakes.

Good point. I forgot that you had the 4 lug hubs. You'll need at least stock SE 16" alloys to clear, or larger.

Also if you plan on getting the 30mm calipers you will need a bigger rim than the S14 SE... I was just gonna use the N/A 300 rims... but they're expensive

the 240sx came with 16" rims?? I think you're mistaken... AFAIK 240sxs only ever came with 15" rims. The 300zx, on the other hand, had 16" rims.
I would skip the 300zx rims though, and go straight for the FD3S wheels. I think they're nicer than the 300z rims.

All S14 SE wheels were 16 x 6.5

eh wrong the 30mm calipers will fit under a S14SE wheel seen it done many times

I am getting a set of 16" SE wheels (not only will the 4-lugs not fit over the brakes, they don't fit on a 5-lug hub anyway). I was planning on getting the PDM fittings anyway.

I still don't know if I need the 240sx SE front spindle or the 300zx spindle? Also, has anyone ever swapped out for a bigger master brake cylindar? I don't want a squishy pedal. If so, is it off the 300zx also? I don't have ABS.

Adey- I'm not mistaken! I never am, and don't tell me I am ever again! I know EXACTLY what is on my car, and 16" STOCK SE ALLOYS are there! I refuse to post anything where I do not know what I am talking about. If I do, it is always prefaced and ended with "I'm not sure, but I think" or "in theory." I did neither of these, and DONT CALL MY BS! EVER!

Drift Freaq- Thank you on the 30mm will fit under 16" alloys. You can add another "seen it done" to your list, cuz they are sitting under my stock alloys.

Pablo- Don't worry about a squishy pedal. I don't know anyone who has ever complained about this, but my brakes are certainly not squishy. Many people have said that they are too firm and there is not enough travel in them. They like 'em, but they really need some getting used to. When I first put them on, I nearly bit my steering wheel.

Good luck man!

You think you can just put on FD3S wheels with Z32 calipers on and call it a day ? haha

The Z32 rims arent that expensive...I got a set of Z32 TT wheels for $175 + S&H ($75). Ive seen sets of Z32 NA rims for $150 on twinturbo.net ....you just have to go where the parts are (Z32 web forums)...and stay away from ebay (where the going price is like $300+)....

You don't need any front spindles, if you're swapping S14 4 lug to S14 5 lug. Get S14 5-lug hubs and use them in your stock spindles.

If you're doing the rear brakes too, you need the 300ZX rear hubs and dust shield with inner drum parking brake if you want to have an E-brake.

Last I heard, mike from clearcorners.com was using a 300ZX master cylinder with his 4-corner 300ZX brake swap. His car is an S13 non-ABS which SHOULD have the same brake setup as an early S14 non-ABS. Apparently it was a bolt-on. There are two different sizes of Z32 master cylinder, 1" and 1-1/16" (vs. our 7/8")... the big one came in early models, that's what you'll probably want.

He's not the only one with that set-up .. :X

I wasn't saying he was, his name just came to mind first. Seems to be the way to go for a car that's driven hard. I can't imagine running 300ZX calipers all around with the stock m/c after the pads have worn down a bit.
