yes it will work early 90's. tomei makes a kit for it. www.240sxmotoring.com

it needs some fabrication though

what kind of fabrication

91-96 Q45 throttle body will work pretty well except that you have to weld a flange onto the intake manifold. The Q45 throttle body is really overkill on majority of sr setups. I wouldnt put a Q45 TB unless I did a full custom intake manifold. With stock manifold or greddy manifold coupled with the Q45 TB, the air will hit a wall because the inlet of the manifold is smaller than the Q45 TB. And no the plugs will not fit. You will have to rewire it.

A good upgrade for a street setup is to find a NA sr20 throttle body which is a little bigger than the turbo throttle body. You should see at least a 5-10 CFM increase in flow. Also KA24DE throttle bodies will work also.

Will the plugs fit from the Ka24de?

so just to clarify...is the TB off the kade bigger than the sr's?

The Q45 TB TPS has 3 Wires that you use the pigtail off of the actual sensor/plug/plastic piece. They are very self explanatory.

You can get the TB Flange made of Aluminum from Ross Machine, then have a fabricator cut the old one off your IM and weld on the new one. After that you may need to smooth the transition port or mouth of the IM, mine is still a little rough and not port matched but still made 400whp at 18 psi with it on brake eddy dyno so im not complaining.

so can i just rewire the NA sr20 or the KA24de tyo the sr harness

Yes the ka24de TB just needs to be rewired. A NA TB should be straight bolt on but you dont see those for sale very often.

but will the ka bolt straight on?

YES!!! I wouldn't tell you a KA TB would work if it didn't fit.

And it's actually an upgrade from the SR TB?

Just checkin', almost sounds too good to be true. Bolt a stock 240 part onto your SR swap and get *gains*? :)

No the KA and SR TB are both 60mm. KA is just an option because you can actually keep cruise control with the KA TB. The N/A SR TB is 65mm I believe. But just 5mm increase will yield at least 5-10 cfm increase.

These are worthy upgrades for sr20det for throttle response and power

70MM Tomei TB
90MM Q45 TB

I don't think the benefit matches the cost on anything else.
