As of the past month or so my DIF fan controller stopped working. I have it preset on 185 degrees for the 1st fan, and 200 for the 2nd fan. It was working all summer long and now it will not turn on fan 1 at the desired temp. But once it gets up to 200 it will kick on both fans just like it should. I checked all of the wiring and nothing is out of the ordinary. When I wired it in I sliced into the wiring for the coolant temp sensor going to the ECU just like the directions said. So what could be wrong? Perhaps the controller box crapped out on me? Could it have anything to do with a coolant temp sensor failing? This is the controller I am referring to:
