I got a redtop.. with 650cc inject, greddy camshaft, greddy camgear, t28, ic etc.. im planning to add apexi head gasket, gt3071r and arp head stud.

I think the record on a stock bottom end is around 550 whp

although that is not what Im saying you should do before people kill me on here I would say when your climbing to the 400 hp and beyond build your motor

Battleground did 450-500 all year on a stock bottom end SR

Forrest Wang did 400whpish all year on stock bottom end SR.

yeah 550 on the stock bottom

-gasket and studs are a must, first thing to blow is the headgasket

its all about how its tuned...PERIOD!!! (not what wheels you run)

if you want the most out of your SR...buy a standalone...pay GOOD money to have it tuned RIGHT...and ur motor will last a long while if you keep it in good shape =D

Yes tuning is very important. I laugh when i see people spend 4g's to build there motor, slap on a gt3071r turbo, and buy a 30$ ecu chip on ebay, run shit pump gas, run 1.5+ bar boost and wonder why their motor blew up 6 months later.

MOD LATER! PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT WITH A GOOD EMS! then go happy joy joy with your mods. I have seen 400+hp Sr's with stock bottom ends run all year in drift events with hard driving. Dont cheap out on EMS research around there are alot of EMS's out there it depends what you want.

gah you had to say his name :( I miss the old ol days at HRP (hawaii raceway park) drifting. Miss that guy but hes doing well. Cover of dsport!!
So i must say props to you Forrest!!

ya push 500 if you are feeling lucky :P
375-425 is about as high as you wanna go depending on the condition on the engine that you have

I had the opportunity to talk to HKS about the FCon VPro on my old s14. Granted the software has limited access but if you have access to a reputable tuner the tune is well worth it.

They turned on the 2-step which was cool. Then they showed me the 32x32 fuel and ignition tables and the graphical view which was awesome.

What REALLY blew me away is that the VPro can be connected to a wideband via a closed loop. This lets the VPro adjust the fuel and ignition maps in real time according to whatever the a/f ratio reads. If something goes wrong, the VPro will compensate with "a safe mode" to try and save the motor. This makes it pretty much impossible to blow the motor unless the driver is a complete and utter idiot.

The point: A good tune will max out the power of your motor with minimal stress so that your stock bottom end will last a loooong time

Lets stay on topic guys. The sr20det is one strong motor I bet he could bench about 150 pounds maybe even dick your girl down hes so strong...I guess what im trying to say whats the point of this.....its like the ls1 vs sr20 thread:werd:

Yeah and its been said over thousands of times and if he cant find that info how is he going to tune a reliable car or even know it needs to be tuned because he cant use the common sence to search. I dunno just seems people answer stupid questions so when people search they get 2 thousand threads to look threw and all with different scattered info. Why put four fat dudes in a mini? Their isnt room for all those fat guys.....

Any engine that's been beaten up for 30-60k km and then sits in the junkyard for 10 year is not going to be good. I don't care if it's an F1 engine.

That's what most "stock" SR20 comes like from the importer.

If you want reliable power, you need to rebuild the block and at least check for tolerances. That's with any motor.

A close to "blueprinted" SR may hold 400-500 on the stock bottom end, but a junkyard SR won't be able to hold even 150.

Do your homework.

I have herd of stock bottom end holding 500hp on the SR. But they never say what the top end mods are. Do you know I know a bigger turbo but what else is needed to get internals to handle about 400hp. I am going to get a GT2871r, 740cc, Power FC, V-spec FMIC, Type RS BOV,Z32 MAF & Fuel Filter,CAI, Greddy pully kit, New Gaskets, New Nissan Water and Oil Pumps, Rocker Arm Stoppers, 1.2mm head gasket, Greddy Valve Spring Set, Easy camshaft Set, ARP head bolts, and Greddy Oil Pan. What else is needed? This is going to be with a S14 Sr20Det, so i think most parts are going to be in good condition because its newer and has less miles.

Your question confused em a bit... are you asking What power parts are necessary to create 400WHP? or what parts you would need to add on to make the engine safe and strong enought to be able to handle the power produced?
