I got a jvc sh55 about 2 weeks ago and its worked great. i installed it in my 1990 240sx and everything was peachy. Now, today, the unit is on, the EQ is going, but there is no audio. Not even that low hiss you might hear if you put your ear up to the speaker with the volume up....The unit says its playing, but no sound.
I cant figure out whats causing this, any ideas on how to fix?
could it be my battery is low or osmething, i figured itd just not turn on if this were the case.

if the deck is on, make sure you're on CD, sometimes radio is quiet. I know it sounds stupid, but I've seen it before. Also, check your connections. One might have come loose.

ummmmm nake sure your connection is connected for your car..... and battery does not affect the battery
no hiss means no power to the speakers....
u said u have a EQ , is this a EQ that is built into the radio of another unit for EQ? if it is part of your head unit then check the connections between the speakers and the head if it is a seperate unit then make sure u got power to the amp

if it isnt the connections its either your speakers are just dead, or you blew the speaker outputs in the deck, and if thats the case the only way you could use it is to get a amp and power your speakers threw that...

I wouldn't have gotten a JVC head unit in the first place BUT the fact that you bought from Crutchfield disturbs me more. They overcharge way too damn much. Try to find some better prices next time. This AINT A FLAME, just letting you know how to save a few bucks
