what is the best coolant to run in your car? i've herd that distilled water it'self cools better than 50/50 antifreeze, what do some of you run, what worked the best for you?

Water Wetter with 50/50 distilled water and coolant

that sounds about right. but what about the story of only distilled water working better than 50/50?

If you look into a bottle of water wetter, they actually list the temps they got with certain mixture and setup. iirc, distilled is lower than 50/50. The downside of straight water is, when it gets cold, your shiets gonna freeze. Its always better to have some anti-freeze in there to protect from it. hence the reason its called anti-freeze.

during the summer I run 70 water, 30 coolant, and use distilled water, winter standard 50/50

It is not recommenced to use all distilled water on a daily driver. Antifreeze has some lubricating properties as well as corrosions inhibitors.

yeah just go 50/50 is the best, water itself will freeze and also has a lower boiling point then coolant, but water itself transfers heat better then coolant. So best is 50/50, distilled water is much better to use depending on where you live because some tap water will corrode your cooling system really fast..... Water wetter is good shit....

Distilled water = less impurities in your coolant.

distilled water = electrolysis.. plus like stated before coolant lubricates water pump and avoids corrosion..

all very good suggestions. best of all worlds i guess would be 50% dis/water, 25% anti freeze, 25% water wetter, trying to get the portions right is gonna suck though. :hs:

25% water wetter would be rather costly. one bottle the the rest distilled/coolant

i think he meant 2 or 3 caps of water wetter

man, 50/50 it. Distilled water, Coolant, and a bottle of wetter water. Also if your cars heating up really quick, while your coolants out check and replace t-stat while in there (maybe upgrade to a Nismo T-Stat)
