My s14 is over 136k as of now, and leaks oil occasionally. I'm aware it could be seals, oil pan or drain plug gasket, etc. I plan to get it checked, and depending on the problem and the cost to fix it, get repairs done asap. Until then whats a good oil for like the seals and what not.

Already tried castrol, valvoline, havoline, and kendall. Any others anyone can recommend that they like?

Thanks

Get the leaks fixed. There's no use putting quality oil in the motor if it's going to end up on your driveway, especially since the amount you spend on good oil could be spent fixing the leaks.

if you tryed gtx or castrol then its not going to be fixed with a different oil just get under there and look.

BY all means I plan to fix, as this is my only car. I just know osme oils have additives for seals and what not. I might try the castrol again.

use fix a leak and those other crappy fluids... will fix minor leaks, but like everyone said check it and fix it...

The snake oil simply swells the seals. It is only a temporary fix. It sounds like your front main seal might be leaking.

Nah read some reviews on honda-tech, and it was kinda 50/50. Torco..never heard of..I got some research to do I guess

You might want to read it.

Hope it helps...

I used Mobil 1 + Lucas + Restore = no leaks so far and the judging by the "butt dyno," cars feels slightly peppier.

Ninja Edit: To clarify, this is what I used:

Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-40

Honestly, don't bother running the higher end synthetics if you're leaking oil.
I'd just run Castrol GTX 10w40

well the leak actually depends on the year. if its a 95 you should get your sensors checked cuz i had that problem as well. 96 they fixed it that sensor problem! so yeah get the leak checked out first!

First off thanks everyone for the replys. Second I see quaker state offers a high mileage with slick 50, though I haven't looked for it yet in any auto stores.

But yeah I read some bad things about lucason honda-tech aswell so I think I'll stay away lol

You wouldn't happen to be talking about oil sending unit I think its called, cause that was the first repair I ever had to get doen since owning the car. That was done about a year and a half ago.

I've used Mobil 1 products exclusively in my cars since day 1. It just so happens my 90 Acura Legend had a HORRIBLE oil leak due to a shop cross threading my pan bolt (I know, don't go to shops, but I was lazy), causing me to lose enough oil in one week that I was nearly empty. The motor kept on chuggin. I put 2.5 quarts in when I finally checked and filled it. Two weeks without oil is killer, but I seriously think the Mobil 1 had an affect on it.

In my 240, I run Mobil 1 Extended Performance (the 15,000 mile shit) and she runs very smooth. No problems yet.

And I've used restore in one of my other 240s. I noticed a little difference in 2,000 miles... used it in the next oil change, and about 1,000 miles later I DEFINATELY noticed a difference.

Never used Lucas oil stuff, just the injector cleaner.

Ninja Edit: That car bible site posted sometime earlier is VERY informative. Thanks a bunch.
