Cops Again =/

ok well i got a ticket for EXHAUST! wtf is that... I'm located in southern cali. man no one ever gets tickets for that. Anyways, what i'm wodnering is if i go and put my silencer back on and go to the chp... will it clear? or do i have to go and remove my exhaust then re-weld my stock one on?  the citation is 27151 VC. also i heard that the exhaust tickets arent 10 dollar fix it tickets any longer. True?

I believe that if you get cited for exhaust it can be for any modifications to the stock system... might want to find a cop who doesn't care and can just sign off the ticket if it is a fix it ticket... if you do have to get it welded back on maybe see if they can weld on some flanges so you can just bolt it up in the future...

my brother got caught for modified exhaust like 8 years ago when we used to cruise in his 85 200sx. We had to get a shop to put the old exhaust back, go to Torrance PD whatever and got a cop to check it out. That was it.

According to the law posted on that link, as long as you're 95 decibels or less, you're fine. What was the decibel level on the ticket? If the cop didn't give you a decibel reading, the ticket is bullshit and you can argue that and get off.

Providing of course, that your exhaust isn't louder than 95 decibels.

I drove my car around for like 3 months with an open header.. It was loud as fuck, It also had fake NY plates..damn im a &nbsp;rebel...LOL..

My dad use to drive around his old firebird that had a 383 ci stroker dropped in it, with open headers, I was able to hear him from block and blocks away, i love it, by the way it was a 88 firebird..

My friend got a ticket for it recently and not one cop would sign off the damn thing so he went to court and ended up winning cause they had no way to prove the decibel level.

not all tickets are write off
i had one, just pay a fine and be on your way
never changed the exhaust to stock, but the fine was 110 bucks
it was in anaheim/fullerton area.

i run loud now everyday for over a year. never had a problem
u welded a muffer on the stock piping? yaeh u deserve a ticket hahaa
get a real exhaust not a mufller mod.
