100 with stock 02 sensor...wouldnt recommend going ne higher than that until you add a few power adder mods (like a much bigger turbo)...c12 and c16 will also eat your 02 sensor because theyre a leaded fuel

lol redhead, i like that better than redtop.
in all honesty, use just 93 octane. if you wanna get more power out of your engine, mod it so it's no longer stock, there are plenty of things you can do to extract more power besides worrying about what kind of gas to use. do the basics. intake, exhaust, fmic, walbro, boost. they are all relatively cheap mods.

yeah, pointless to run more than 91 on a stock untuned SR.
More octane is pointless unless you tune your engine for it.

Yeah, unless you want to pay upwards of $7 bucks a gallon for 100 octane. Ive only seen it at one gas station by my house. I get 91 from "76" gas stations. If I have to go somewhere else I'll hit up chevron.

Doesnt matter whats the highest octane you can run as long as you know the lowest you should run is 91. Remember, these engines are JDM, so tuned for the JDM gas market. Lowest octane gas you'd find offbase is 96 octane.

very untrue...the SR was made to run on a much higher grade octane than the 91 offered here in america...if you run on pure 100 octane in jsut stock form...the entire motor picks WAY up...power band wakes up...the car pulls alot harder...AND you get better gas milage...100 has a much slower burn than 91...therefore the motor uses less gas to create more power...on 91...my car use to average about 200 miles to a tank...on pure 100 it averaged around 280-290 miles to the tank...mind u this was before i switched over to a powerFC Djetro
but...even in stock form...a SR/CA/RB will feel and pull ALOT better running 100 rather than 91 (as does ANY turbo car...DSM owners know this really well)
plus...100 gets the ladies all moist when they smell it...its like axe for your car ;)

i agree...i felt the difference when i put 100 octane from willow springs in my car...and i only have an exhaust and fmic....

I run 91 on my stock SR.
Really no point running any octane higher than that.
If you dont have the power // tunning completed on your car.

Dang, forgot about Japanese 100 octane. Have fun paying $7 a gallon though.
Just do the xylene/toulene trick. Magic 97 octane.

is there honestly that much of a price difference between 91 and 93 over there on the west coast?

It's not a price difference. They don't even have it.

In SF is's $3.81. $4.14 is a few places.
Though 105oct is only $5 a gal.
Soon it will be cheaper to run race gas.

I think it's around 3.3x for 93 octane here. Good stuff!! And IIRC there is a place near where I work that sells even higher octane stuffs. lol I need to check that out when I turbo. ><

Seriously. When that happens I'll just run 100 octane from 76 haha

On a road trip once I came across a gas station that had 87/89/94. Thought that was kind of odd; we have 93 around here, although some gas stations are now using 92 instead  ...not that I really care that much though.

Gas prices are getting rediculous on the west coast.

i wish it were that easy...100 octane went from 3.50 a gallon to 4.25 a gallon to 5 a gallon as the prices of normal went up...so if the gas prices go over 4 bux...expect to pay roughly 6-7 bux a gallon
but...if you have a stand alone or piggy back...retune ur shit for e85...its equivelant to 103 octane...and dont believe the things people say about needing to redo ur fuel lines...the shop i work with has been running it in their cars for a few years now (in a 600hp evo, 500hp subbie, 525hp DSM and the shop owner runs it in his personal 240 with an SR)...weve had no problems with any of the stock fuel line components running e85...i just havent personally switched to it yet because i dont have the cash for a retune at the moment
with E85 you have to run 35% more fuel in the motor...so it takes a little bit of messing with the fuel maps to get it right
neat thing though...with E85...when you drain your oil for a change...it will come out about 2 shades darker than it went in (instead of being almost black)...E85 doesnt cause carbon deposits in the oil like normal pertrol does
