If I get a boost controller and occassionally turn up the boost when I need to smoke my friends do I need to upgrade the ECU or fuel system?

generally people say you need at least a feul pump and a new filter to turn it up a little. most say you also need a front mount. I have both and run 15 pounds all day everyday with no problems. I never tried without the front mount though.

Here's what you need:
Intercooler. Preferably front mount.
Fuel pump. Walbro or 300ZX TT, are the most popular.
Intake Filter. Helps
After that, you can unplug the wastegate entirely. Your turbo won't last long, though. 15psi seems to be a safe, respectable limit on a T25.

I wouldnt boost over 13 lbs on a stock SR... At least w/o a turbo upgrade. 13 will still pretty much put you in your seat, so just get the new intercooler, fuel pump, filter, and make sure you change your oil a lot <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Just do what I have listed before you turn the boost up and you'll be fine.
I have a Walbro feul pump. Heavy Throttle sells them for about $120. That's for a brand new pump that you should never outflow. Buying a new 300zxtt pump is a pain in the ass, and more expensive.
