I tried searching to see if anyone had an install of the spl front arms on their s14. Spl's site only has the tie rod install. I was wondering what all the spacers are for and how to install it correctly. Are the spacers for changing the angle the arm connects to the knuckle when you get an alignment?

Also the tension rods were a very tight fit when it came to trying to get the bolts through due to the steering stop. Is there something that you are supposed to bolt where the steering stop hits? There are two holes on the spl arms that seem you can install some kind of bumper or something?

As for the Largus sway bar I guess all I have to do is angle it up a little bit more to ease the install of the spl endlinks. Anyone certain?

Last is the zeal coilovers, in the picture you can see how I installed them with the bushing towards the knuckle. Just want to make sure that it is the correct way and not needing to be rotated.

You can see the pictures here:

Thanks for any info/help.

spacer goes onto the inner part of the tie rod
outer, inner, spacer, into rack

adds more angle

bolts for the tension rod, loosen the rod all the way up, and then bolt in. then adjust

the bushing doesnt matter....
either way is ok

Nice setup!!! It's good to see a 240 owner not being cheap!!! (and rare, lol)

Let us know how the Zeals are.

oh and make sure u install the swaybars with your car on the ground or shoud i say, loaded
dont do it w/ the wheels up in the air

easiest way?

jack ur car up
sit ur car on some wheels
and then install the sway bar!

very important!

Aaron's right about the sway bar. If you adjust it while the car is in the air, it'll be preloaded.

The spacers on the shank connecting the FLCA to the knuckle are for bumpsteer adjustment. You want your control arms as parallel to the ground as possible.

I have SPL's FLCAs, tension rods, and spherical end links. You've made a pretty good choice, although the spherical bearings/rod ends in the FLCAs and end links are only mediocre in quality and will need to be replaced far before the rod ends in the tension rods.

The tie rods I'm good on, I am referring to the front control arm. The suspension faq says it's for changing the angle. So I am just wondering if the way I have it is ideal, or would that just be left until the alignment is done to know.

I installed the tension rods, just wondering why they are right up on the steering stop, with the stock setup it has plenty of room.

I thought you had to make sure either both tires where up in the air or both on the ground to adjust the sway bar? Isn't preloading when you just jack one side up?

Thanks for the input though.

Thanks Kandyflip, I don't like to go cheap on stuff. If your going to do it right do it right the first time. Plus everyone said spl was the better companies.

The zeals with just the front largus bar endlinks, t-rods and powerbrace are awesome. I can't wait to test it on a track when it's all said and done.
