I'm running a 215/40 on a 17x9 rim...

Discount just mounted them for me the other day, and they only put 29 psi in the tires.

What I was wondering is if it's reccomended to run a lower psi when running stretching tires? Or higher and they just didn't fill em up cuz they're lazy or something?

Tire says max psi is 51...Should I add air or keep the psi low like it is?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not a wheel and tire guru, but 29psi sounds good since the tire is stretched around the wheel. Plus when driving around, the tires will warm up and the pressure will increase a few psi. So its like running 30-32ish, which is normal.

u run the same pressure u would for any tire
29 to 32 is fine when cold.

Alrighty, is running higher dangerous or anything? I normally run 35, 29 just seemed sorta low to me, but it was pretty cold today (mid40s probably)

Lmfao I remember when Russell said run 5 psi over what the max says on the sidewall. Wonder who actually did that. Run 30 psi.

Uhhhhhhh, nah man, you have to run 70psi+ or it will unseat.

anyone willing to die can try to run 29, but I don't want my bead unseating on the highway or some shit.

Maximum pressure on the sidewall is to get the peak load rating, you'll have less load rating running stretched tires at 70, but its safer and its not like you're gonna be pulling a trailer or something.

Yah, it's true Russell is right. The higher the psi the safer you are, disregard what everyone else says. You'll be safer this way. We really don't want you to die.

Sweet...I love how the tech section is made just for you guys to flame, what's the point.

Discount doesn't always do stretches, but I have a friend that works there that helps a lot of the locals out.

I hope you know theyre kidding right. Most id shoot on those is 35-36. Only thing with stretching tires is you have to keep an eye on the pressure. If you have a small puncture/leak, the tire could be liable to you unseat the bead.
