IS the tranny any better than the stock one? As a matter of fact, what is the stock tranny? Any what 6-speed trannys can be put in a 240? TIA.

I believe the RB tranny is the same as the old FJ tranny, but I’m not sure. The stock 5-speed is the same one used on the SR powered cars; it's good beyond the power level anyone is ever going to reach on pump gas. Even the 10-second S14 which was putting an estimated 520hp through the tranny survived street duty and a little track abuse. As far as 6-speeds go, the S15 tranny is always there, but you will need the S15 drive shaft, rear diff, and the axels. Then there is the Quaife drop-in gear set; 6-speed, dog engagement spur cut gears. Racing tranny only, will set you back $8k to $10k.

it'd be possible to mate them up, yes, but it'd be simpler to just use an SR tranny. it'll require some hacking to get an RB tranny to hook up to an sr20det. mounting it is no problem, though. the rb25det tranny is very built compared to the rb20det tranny, as well. when rb26dett is used in a RWD application the rb25det trans is always used
