If you were doing an enginge swap for a 95 240SX what would you recommend dropping into it?

Oh um a Ferrari v12, that would be a good start.
Could you be more vague? Or use the search function less?

like uuninja said.. be a little less vague, but u've got two realistic, a common choices.. rebuild urs or a new KA and turbo if u want, or a black top sr20. I know of people using s15 sr's as well.
If u wanna get crazy.. u could alsways go with an RB too.
But seriously, (not trying to sound mean.. but do some research)
Check out unstable-hybrids (http://www.unstable-hybrids.com)
Good luck

Why do people always look over the CA.. is it just because it has 200cc less displacement? Or I've heard there is no aftermarket for it.. but thats a lie. They are also cheaper, and drop in easier, with SR i've heard problems with the back hitting the firewall. Its actually cheaper to get a CA from 300-500hp than it is to get that much power with a SR.. any less HP is cheaper with the SR. The CA has a solid lift cam.. the SR doesn't, so you need a lash killer kit and a solid lift cam to make more than a little over stock HP. CA is the better of the two engines in my opinion, I don't ask that people agree with that.. but at least consider the CA an option... i mean Coastek listed an RB to a newbie that obviously knows nothing, over a CA which drops in even easier than a SR.. oh well.. im starting to ramble

If the money is right you can do just about anything, but to be realistic...
CA18DET
SR20DET
KA24DE-T or KA24DE(T)....turbocharge the stock(USDM) engine
RB25DET
RB20DET
2JZ-GTE.....yes a Toyota engine in a Nissan
These engines have been placed in some model of the 240SX.
But seriously next time do a search..there's ALOT of info out there....probably too much for you to handle <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> ...j/k

thanks for listing the CA at the top, i don't know if that was an accident or how you ordered them, but none the less, its good to know someone on this forum actually knows what a CA is... and before i get flamed, that was sarcasm, yes i know our most active moderators name is ca18guy..

The CA is not that bad of an engine, however its not that popular with most people. As for me I'm leaning towards the SR since I have not much knowledge on the CA nor do I know where parts for it can be obtained so easily.
BTW, I believe ca18guy drives a e-spec 180SX...i think....
