Anyway, right when he starts to merge he's fucked. He swerves away (left) but hits the brakes (see lights) which throws his ass right, so he corrects and throws the ass left, which would be fine if he'd punched the gas. However, he brakes (see lights) as his ass is in the middle of its inertia and that is why when he tries to re-correct, the car balance is all out of proportion, and you know he jammed the gas like crazy, thus slingshotting the out of control rear end and he uses this slighshot effect to turn the car left into the other lane and wreck his wheels. Silly silly silly. When you run FF, you gotta know what not to do. I.E. Hitting breaks hard in a slide.
Charlotte's rear struts are pretty much blown, so off road, even the slightest touch to the brakes when not braking in a straight line throws you into a spin.
