Ok. so i had a problem a while back. Drove to my friends house, parked my 240 in the driveway and when i left it wouldnt start.
Long story short. tried to pop start the car. almost made it. But didnt work. I had it towed back to my house.
installed a remanufactured starter. (hopefully properly, although i dont think you can mess that up)
recharged my Optima battery this morning and its still clicking like its not getting enough power.
Headlights turn on. theres power to everything. But all i get is fast clicking when i turn the Key.
Now what i think it could be is, a bad ground? How do i check this?
I also have my Optima red top relocated to my trunk via 2 gage wire, its connected by a 100amp fused distribution block.
any suggestions are appreciated.
I also have a FSM for my car, but am a lil confused.

You dont' have enough amperage. Which means you don't have enough "Kick" in your battery to turn the car over. Once a battery drain, amperage can go as well. Try replacing the battery.... fast clicking usually means not enough amperage and your battery draining low all the time because of a faulty altenator, is very normal. Just try another battery, chances are it will start right up.... No matter what battery you use, the way to kill a battery to keep draining it all the time.

also if you have a voltage checker check the terminals for the starter. they are notorious for coming loose. this may be the problem that is persisting. since it has happened to me as well.

it probably doesnt help that my battery is relocated and the distribution block is shitty. i gotta check my grounds.

yeah since you already changed the starter its probably going to be your battery unless its not getting spark but yours doesn't turn over.. but start with the basics like your battery... did you charge it yourself or bring it somewhere where it can be tested and charged? like an autozone, kragen. Also since you know you have bad grounds fix em. good luck

so i had a friend whos a mobile mechanic came over to help me today. He figured out that there is too much resistance somewhere in the power wire going to my battery. I need to buy a new power wire, new terminals, and clean up where the ground is going both in my trunk and in my engine bay.
Im thinking of going to a local car audio shop to buy some 2 guage wire and some fancy terminals. any suggestions?

DId you check your ignition switch?? A bad ignition switch can fool you into thinking your starter has gone bad. REMEMBER...the ignition switch is part of your starter/starting system. Everybody seems to forget that when they have problems starting their car.
The ignition switch on your steering column has five (5) positions....Lock...Off...ACC...On...START. The START position is an independant Momentary On/Off switch which runs power to your starter when you go to start your car. If those contacts in the START position go bad, (which they do), you won't be able to draw enough amps to kick over your starter.
Anyhow, check the switch & see if it helps...
