Can't Lock driver side door with Key....Only works when I pull the door handle up

Can't Lock driver side door with Key....Only works while I pull the door handle up half way.
Unlocking is fine.

When I look at the manual lock tab while the door is open and I use a key to lock it, it doesn't move much.
I've been playing with it with the door trim off but I can't figure out where to fix(or lube?), so help would be appreciated.

I don't need a new door handle; that's not the problem. I just wanted to know what part needs a fix. It unlocks fine with the key, locking doesn't. Thanks though.

make sure the rod connected to the handle isnt interfering with the back of the cylinder. remove your door panel and take a peek inside. keep the window rolled up lol. you can lube inside the keyhole. is it a new copy of the key? does the key not wanna turn at all in that direction or does it turn then bind up?? if you gotta remove the door handle, it should be i think 2-3 10mm nuts holding it in. i cant remember lol i hope that helps.

WTF? Anyways, the key turns but doesn't lock. I guess I'll try lubing the inside of the keyhole.

I had this problem too. I just had a couple loose screws where the locking mechanism is in the door jam. Don't know if that is your problem or not.
