well this isnt the most exciting story but im bored, and its kinda scary and funny sorta... anyway, today i was driving my s13 to the junkyard to get my friend some s12 parts.. we're almost there, (bout 30 miles from home), and all the sudden my car starts shaking, like a horribly made freeway type deal, but worst... so i slow down a little with caution, ironic that my exit was coming up in 1/4 mile.... so then i get off, and hear this CLUNK CLUNK! and feel my rear end kinda lift up like i ran over a boulder... so it continues as i pull over into a gas station to see whats up... look in my rear view mirror as im pulling in and see some object fly out from underneath my car and catapult into the road behind me... so i pull in quickly to the station and stop and run out carefully into traffic to get the item and see what the hell it was... right after a dump truck runs it over... lol.... so i grab it, hot as shit, and realize its my left side axle coupling.... hahaha... this is sorta funny but im shitting my pants at the same time... and for the record, just 2 weeks ago i got my car on a lift and tightened all these down cuz they got loose somehow... so my axle was just floating around after it flew off... and i was wondering why and knew something was fucked when it was so smooth and not chirping when i pulled in the station... (welded diff... usually)... so i drove all the way to my friends shop, (bout 7 from tragedy) seeing as i was broke and had no other choice, going 25 or less on the shoulder of the freeway to get there... lol.. it wasnt fun and was pretty intense crossing shoulder to shoulder...so we fixed it of course!!! with some troubles but everythings normal now... but what a trip.. this is defin not mechanical error cause i JUST tightened the rear.. some reason theres alot going on back there.. anyway... theres my pointless story... thot id share it with you.. it was pretty wild if you were there... haha. ahhhh jesus.

Had my front wheel on my '82 Starlet fall off on me on the freeway! SCARY SHIT! Damn slip-on wheel spacers w/o extended studs. I was young and didn't listen to anybody. Lesson learned!;)

Shit man..I've had shit things happen to me on the way way.
Blew my SR on the bay bridge and had to push my car up the bridge (with a welded diff) Horrible night.
Another night I was heading to my friends house. And some Toyota Pickup truck's rear bumper fell off, and I ran it over in my s14 blowing up my front pass. tire, and skidded on the way way.
Spun out one time going to work in the morning (rainy day, Welded diff, about 45 mph, hit an uneven bump)
but glad you and your car is safe.

damn. Try some blue(medium) or even red (holy shit, good luck removing it) loctite.
although i agree, something is vibrating the shit outa that axle... Bent axle or diff output?
Another plus for a welded!! you'd have been assed out with open or vlsd!!!
