I noticed some have projector beams, others are a simple housing. How many different ones are there? Which are better?
There are three varieties:
Dual Halogen
Dual Projector (low/high)
Triple Projector (low/high/fog)
The Dual Halogens are supposed to have better lighting and seem to be the more popular headlights on Silvias among the crowd (they were originally on the early models). Personally I like the triple projectors as that's what I have.

The Dual Projector also have fog lights.
The Dual Halogens were available on all years...they were standard on the Silvia J's and optional on the Q's and K's. They are particularly nice with an HID conversion.
Dual Projectors were on 89-90 Q's and K's Silvias with CA18DET
Triple Projectors were on 91-94 Q's and K's Silvias SR20DET
Personally, I prefer the look of the Dual Projector, but may end up just getting the dual halogens and an HID kit in the distant future.

I can assure you that the dual halogens light up the road like ass. The projectors are much better at throwing light. However, the dual halogens are popular because most people prefer their look.
I used to want the dual-halogens but I have grown accustomed to the dual projectors.

This question has been plaiging me also, but this will be the deciding factor for me, are HID's cheaper for the Dual Halogen, or the Dual Projectors? I will end up with HID on eather one, but want to know the price difference due to style of lights, Thanks:D

so according to that thread, the bulbs for the dual halogens are H4.. not H3c? i never heard of H3c before.. also, dual halogens means the two rectangles both use halogen bulbs but is one rectangle for high beam and one for low?
