So, I was chilling at work, bored messing around on z net (I work at autozone) and I started to search for random things, and guess what i came upon??
Well I found out that we sell a
"jdm sr20det 91-94"
How pimp is that??
we also sell an rb26dett valve and lifter kit
skyline guage pods
rb25det head gaskets
then i actually had to work
But anyways, back to the sr
This is great cause all autozone motors come with a 3 year waranty, unlimited miles. They are all oem rebuilds.
The Item number for this is 801172
and the part number for this is 301601u
and the retail on this is 2188.99
not bad.
It does not however come with anything other than the head and the block.

FWD SR20DEs, no such thing as FWD SR20DETs...atleast in the states.
jskateborders
11-12-2007, 10:35 PM
Its JDM sr20det
and besides, theres no such thing as an sr20det in the states either, well usdm at least. I dont think they would sell a fwd sr20det seeing as there is no market for it. If I was looking for another motor, I would be all over this cause 3 year warranty??? just take it back.

No way!! I would like to know more. And I'll get that part number and call to make sure. It'll be great if it's for real!

fwd sr20det and rwd sr20det are not the same. heads are different. fwd sr20det puts the cas or dizzy in a different location if im not mistaken.
either way, do it n let us know how it works out.

11-13-2007, 11:51 AM
^^--yo even though that dude posted he already tried this, did you ever thinkg that MAYBE, just MAYBE, autozone recognizes how popular these engines are!!? i still think you should confirm this!
jskateborders
11-13-2007, 12:11 PM
Thats the thing, theres no vendor number to call like we usually have on our engines you can buy. I guess its time to dive into corporate auto zone via phone...

HAHAHA like theyd listen to me... but on a serious not, just get them to search in the crossreference box for stuff you need. Its not like you can go to car 95 nissan skyline gtrrb26dett or something.

Like it was mentioned before, IF they did carry these where would they get these cores from? Are sr20det longblocks still even in production by ANYONE?

Maybe they where donated in the name of Autozone!! But I dont see anyone that would even sale their long blocks in autozone or even sale them in a price that autozone would buy them in mass to resale. As far as I know their isnt any usdm companys massing sr20det long blocks for sales you have to have the motor made personaly to your specs with your expence and the price just doesnt seem right for a remanufactered motor not trust worthy IMHO
