I did my front brakes today, resurfaced the rotors, how ever all of a sudden when I back up, I get the loud squeeling sound. Just notcied it? Anyone ever have this problem? when doing brakes, Does it need those metal plates that go in front and back of the pads? I didnt put um on there.

those shims do help prevent brake squeal. did you put brake grease on the two bolts the caliper "rides" on? if one neglects to put brake grease on regularly, they could squeal like that...
put the shims back on, and grease up the 2 bolts for each caliper (so you will grease up a total of 4 bolts and make sure you put the rubber boots back on properly.)

thanks fellow longislander!!!!, I just did the brakes an hour ago, I rushed it cause we dont have much time after work to work on our cars, I tried to short cut. Ill try and find all the shimms, which are probbaly on the floor some where, lube the sliders and put anti squeeling compound on the back of the pads.. And see wha happens.
