I know Momo makes a regular sized one but I did not find any short ones, plus I'm planning to run a Nardi wheel...

i dont doubt it but it is not collapsible. with the momo, in the event of an accident it prevents you from eating the steering wheel by allowing the hub to give away.

people who think like this need to keep the airbag

modifying cars is not for you

street cars really should keep the airbag if came equipped with one.

I call bullshit on this statement. It is often possible to find a happy medium between boring and insanity. Did you think of other uses for a collapsable hub? Cause i'm pretty sure that you would be less likely to snap a wrist in impact with that hub as well.

although i do agree an airbag is best.

well my car did not come with an airbag and any available products that helps promote safety is a thumbs up in my book. if they don't make one, then fine, im not going to lose any sleep at night but if they do, then why the hell not get one? if you don't have any useful inputs, then please dont post.

i think short hubs are too short to have the collapsibility needed for safety. a regular hub collapsed is about the size of a short hub.

Use a seatbelt.

I mean how fucking hard do you expect to be crashing where you'll need to worry about a steering wheel hub collapsing?

A four point harness would lessen the impact on the steering wheel. I had the same problem. I bought a Nardi Deep dish style steerig wheel, a quick release hub and a momo hub. My Face was on the steering wheel. If you want a short NRG hub pm me.

Exactly. If you have a harness your face should be no where near the wheel.

What are you going to do after the hub collapses all four inches? It's still going to impact your body. Only it doesn't hurt for .050 longer.

I mean if you want to live your life in fear, then maybe you should stay secluded at home afraid of life.

four inches of give will feel like a pillow compared to no give lol. like i said, i'm sure as fuck not gonna lose any sleep at night. if they offer what i'm looking for, cool, if not, ill get me a works bell. i got money, i got time, and if i can do it better the first time around then i will. i've asked a question, i didn't ask for your opinion. thanks.

I'm pretty sure in order for something to collapse, it needs area.

The Momo hub collapses because it's HUGE and there's nothing inside of it but air.

Short hubs are exactly the opposite.

Just look at the design.

I took my tomei steering wheel in the face...broke my nose, hairline fracture under my eye, plastic surgery and couldnt blow my nose for a week. Im pretty sure if I had an airbag my face would have been worse...kids I knew who got into accidents got burned and shit by the chemicals inside...im sure they do good Im just sayin, airbag or not you are gonna kill your face in a crash either way

I hit a car at 45 mph. My seat belt kept me far from my steering wheel.

Fyi there are no chemicals in airbags that will be exposed to the people in the car. The chemical that makes it come out is behing the metal and there not much of it. The white stuff on the bag is just like a Talkam powder. So when you get burns its the actual bad rubbing you. most older cars have super rough air bags

Im with him ^
Just wear a seatbelt and it will be all gravy! unless you drive like a grandma up close to the stearing wheel then your gonna have a problem.
ive crashed at 60mph and my face was no way near hitting the steering wheel.

i was a passenger in a head on accident (s14) and i was wearing a seat belt and the airbag deployed, i didn't hit the airbags. but i was slightly happy knowing they worked(even though they didn't do a damn thing for me, they helped the driver).
