my 95 240 just got hit from the front on the passenger side. I think the tow truck trying to pull it busted the motor mount on the passenger side and stretched the motor mount on the drivers side like an inch and a half. so in all it brought the motor and tranny like an inch and a half forward from the driveline. is there any way i can replace the motor mounts without taking the motor out of the car, or somehow get the motor and tranny to get yanked back into place. anything will help.

Well i have no idea about replacing but if you cant an hour or so on a frame machine at a body shop would pull that sucker right back.

unbolt both motormounts jack up engine or use a cherry picker lift it up uintil you have accessibility to the mounts and replace.
more steps then i mentioned but thats the basic run down of it. you dont need to remove your engine completely out of the engine bay to do this
while you are doing this either upgrade your mounts or fill them with 3m window weld to strengthen them up

I have the same prob with my s14. After the wreck and frame pulling engine and tranny moved 1.5 inches forward also causing the shifter to move...so now the shift boot pulls it back to N from 1st, 3rd and 5th <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
anyway, My transmition mount took the most twisting and bending, so I'm going to replace taht as soon as the part comes in from nissan stealership. Also, check your steering rack. Because of the engine shift it's rubbing on the exhaust header shield (aluminum crap you can always bend inwards to free up more space).
If the trany mount doesn't fix this i'm hooking a pulley up to a tree and doing some pullin' on the engine...good luck man
