the fuse for my gauge cluster, interior button lights, and rear tailights keeps blowing. at night, i can't see how fast im going or what rpm's im at, i have to shine a light to see and also my rear tailights dont work unless i hit the brake. once i let go of brake they are completely dark again. do any of you know what is causing the fuse to constantly blow? its blown 3 fuses in 3 days.
thank you!

check your tail light, cluster, radio ground wires.. make sure they are hooked up and grounded out good
have you messed with your car at all lately?

thanks for the quick response. i havent messed with the wiring or anything at all with the car recently. it just started happening. we would replace the fuse and then it would blow out again in less than a day.
ill check those wires, thanks.

dont put fuses in that are bigger btw... it can cause many more problems for you
also... pull the bulbs out of the sockets for the tails... some water could have been splashed up in there and corroded something... just a process of elimation

Check the wires in your trunk. I had a spare diff in mine once and mashed a bunch of wires that kept shorting out my fuses.

in my case, i blew out the 100A FL under the hood. Mine used to work althought the top cracked off. I'd check your 75A FL and 100A FL, one day the 100A FL just decided to die die die

if its an s14 that fuse should be a 7.5 IIRC I was having the same problem while messing around with my cluster and radio wires. I would also say check the bulbs cause i was having problems with that.

My car did some wierd stuff when I had one wrong tail light bulb in. My gauge lights would light up when I hit my brakes but I dont think it blew a fuse. If you havn't recently changed any bulbs I would check all the wiring going to all the lighting components.

sounds like you have a short somewhere. If you've recently installed any electronic items, go back and double check your connections and make sure they are connected well and taped too. If not, get an electric meter and start trying to track down the short.

check the orange (?) illumination wire behind the head unit
alot of people neglect to tape it properly after putting in an aftermarket unit

we've checked the bulbs again and it turns out one has went out. we replaced that bulb but the fuse still keeps blowing. theres a short somewhere under my dash. the size 10 fuse for the rear tailights keeps blowing. the previous owner had somebody do a shitty security system install the so the wires under there are a mess.
Sounds like a short. I had the same problem. A turn signal wire somehow was getting shorted. This was when I came back from Las Vegas in 110+ heat. Wire insulation must've gotten worn.

i would check the harness in the wheelwell above the tire on the drivers side to see if anything has been rubbed.

I had the same problem on my S14 kouki. I was driving last night and I hit a bump in the road and my dash/parking lights went off. After disconnecting all the things I had hooked up (gauges, boost controller, glow gauges, and turbo timer) it still did not come on. Then I pulled the radio out and it was the illumination wire, I cut it and taped it off and now it works fine. I went through 6 10amp fuse and I have one left.
