Unlike hondas, I notice cars lower in supply are hard to find a set price.
What's a decent price for a 97-98 kouki?
I found a 97 240sx LE manual w/ 140k miles clean title a few mods but cracking paint $5500 decent price?

have you negotiated with him at all or is that his set price at 5.5k?

I'd say examine it well look for imperfections but don't go so far into it your naming ridiculous stuff you have to take in account that the car is fairly old.

make sure you look for rust and check out the spare tire area and underneath the car.

How bad is the paint?

I am assuming you've already checked out the title if your serious about purchasing it

at 5.5k it sounds like a fair deal if you post some pictures I am sure you will get more feedback.

Good Luck

I bought my '97 4 years ago for $5,500 with 195K miles on it, if that helps. They seem to be steadily getting more and more expensive. Good luck.

Seems like a pretty good price, in Chicago Zenkis range from 3500 to 5000. Most koukis ive seen were around 7000 and up. I bought my 95 Zenki in 2003 with 98K SE 5spd model all options at a dealer for like 6500

I'll be taking a look at it tomorrow morning. The only questionable thing is the body and paint, i'll post how it goes and some pictures if i pick it up. Whats the difference in LE vs SE?

her on the west coast they are allot more expensive than back in the mid west. I got my 97 with 108K for 8500, fairly cheap, i got my 98 with 68K for 9500 not that cheap, but i think i was the second owner of it.

I picked up my 98 in December 2006. I paid 9.2k. I looked everywhere from forums to autotrader and they are higher then kbb. Plus I was looking for a completely stock kouki. That way I could be the first one to devirginize it.

SE do come auto.
i bought my zenki for 1200, kouki's around here stock and low miles go for 5500, the old price of the zenkis, and zenki 3800, and thats base, 4500 for the se 5 speed. if you're lucky enough you can find a kouki from some old guy for 2500 bucks on autotrader in palm beach county, fl. haha. i so missed it by a few hours. but they usually go for 5.5k and up so that is still a baller price. get it.

Well jus looked at the car and wow. I lost count of how many things wrong with it!

Yes it was a 97 but not a LE let me make a list of things i can remember, owner didnt know muich about the car or cars in general

temp. registration
cant pass smog
clutch worn out
crappy brown cracking paint
crappy blue paint undernearth
was rear ended before, not sure if it was correctly fixed
trunk latch not working
hood latch not working
door handle loose hanging
sunroof broken half open
front rear bumpers loose
ghetto repaired exhaust, broken exhaust hanger
mix matched interior
dash broken

you get the idea...

It'll fluctuate on how mint it is, my kouki had 53K on it with one dent in the fender that I got out already... zero rust, LE with no lsd for 8500. I paid too much but I got offered 9500 for it more than a year later, halfway thru my 5 spd swap, not even running
