Pilot PL-1078CK halogen fog lights. Look pretty good imo. $14.99 for glass fog lights? Can't beat it. Just thought I'd let folks know if you have a zenki s14 and are looking for non OEM fog lights.

For those of you out there who are after more than just looks, not saying that the OP is one of those people, should try to mount them as high up off the ground as possible. This way, you can get the widest beam possible with the most even spread and least hotspots.

15 dollar foglights

FIF TEEN dollar, fog lites.

chrissake. as if companies like hella and cibie dont exist, spend money on shit that has no useable beam pattern and just wastes energy.

do yourselves a favor people, build a relay harness - buy some REAL foglamps, if you drive in fog. if you need better HEADLAMPS, BUY BETTER HEADLAMPS. Foglamps, are in NO WAY, a substitute for better headlamps.

ps: my intuition tells me that those arent even foglamps, they're probably DRIVING lamps. but hey, i could be wrong. (nah, no way im wrong).

NO, dummy. foglamps are not headlamps, and driving lamps are not headlamps.

The idea isn't about always buying top of the line. Sure I could've bought some hella lights for a lot more, but I would be just as satisfied as I am now, having only spent $15. It's about getting the best bang for your buck. The sooner you start to realize not all low priced items are junk, the better off you're going to be. Companies like Pilot aren't still in business after many years because they make 100% crap. Think about it.

American Products Company To Pay $650,000 Civil Penalty For Sale of Lamps Not Meeting Safety Standards

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced today that American Products Company (APC) has agreed to pay a $650,000 civil penalty as a result of its manufacture, certification, and sale of replacement lamps that did not comply with federal safety standards.

Over the past several years, APC sold various models of noncomplying replacement tail lamps, commonly sold as “clear” tail lamps or “Eurotail” lamps. Some of the non-complying models replaced red lamps and reflectors with clear ones. Others were missing side marker lamps or reflectors.

APC also sold other noncompliant replacement lighting equipment, including clear corner and bumper lenses and high-intensity discharge (HID) conversion kits. The nonconforming equipment was sold by a variety of retailers. The lamps and lenses have been the subject of four recalls covering thousands of parts.

The parts and model numbers associated with these safety recalls are listed on NHTSA’s web site, http://www.nhtsa.gov/ under the recall numbers 99E-039, 00E-078, 01E-035 and 03E-014. Part and model numbers are located either on the lamps or on the packaging in which the lamps were sold. Consumers with questions about this or any other safety recall campaign should call NHTSA’s toll-free Auto Safety Hotline, (888) 327-4236.

for those that arent too keen on what im saying here, is that HID components USED to cost 250-500 for the bulbs, ballasts, and relay harness.. BACK IN THE DAY. Nowadays, parts have been so copied and are such shitty quality, plus.. that these companies have managed to bump costs down THAT much. they're pretty much trying to offload them at whatever cost they can, obviously. Not to mention, you CANT defect a product when the company changes every 5 minutes, and you dont want to ship stuff back and fourth when its not even worth the freight/customs. Imagine, if they're trying to offload HID kits at $43 dollars/set, imagine what it actually costs to MANUFACTURER!

then, imagine what R&D, engineering or safety measures actually went into the design. lets just say, i have a bargain bin here filled with PULLED components from customers cars that were equipped with junk before coming through the shop. You'de be amazed at how bad BAD can be, its fucking horrible.

now take that $15 dollar foglamp kit, imagine what the cost is - imagine what the profit is. if vendors are selling HID kits online TODAY for $100-150, and they cost 40. Well, I wouldnt be surprised if those $15 dollar flashlights cost $2 dollars to purchase.

honestly, do you REALLY think you're gaining anything?

Pank

Well, the "cool people" are completely devoid of all logic it seems. Let me make this as crystal clear as possible.

1. I was not specifically looking for fog lights for my car.

2. I found a decent set of glass Pilot fog lights on sale ($15) while I was at AutoZone getting some parts for a friends car.

3. They looked like they would match well with the body styling of my zenki S14, so I figured why not, it's only $15.

4. I installed them and they look great, in my opinion. If you don't think they look good, that's fine, but it gives you no right to flame my car. Keep your negative opinions to yourself, and act like an adult. Apparently this is extremely hard for some of you.

5. Had I been looking for a killer set of fog lights, yes I could've spent a good amount of money and bought some nicer ones. But I figure, if I can get a year or two out of these ones, why not? They were cheap as hell and look good.

6. I just wanted to share with zilvians that here is a good deal at AutoZone on some quasi-decent fog lights that look good on a zenki s14.

People should at least be temp-banned for shitting on others' threads here. I've been a part of many online communities where this crap wouldn't be tolerated.

This is just an idiotic justification for acting like a juvenile. I can understand if someone doesn't like it. But how hard is it to be mature about it? Just say, "I don't like it," or give an example as to why you don't like it, and move on. How hard is that? It's called common courtesy.
