View Full Version : Sr20det Redtop Variable valve timing conversion?

How hard would it be to swap the head on the s13 redtop for an sr20det out of a S15 with vairable valve timing I know its possable on hondas is just swapping the head the answer or am I missing something? Thanks - moron Nissian fan

Most people disconnect the vvt. It becomes obsolete after awhile. Most of the extra power in a S14/15 engine comes from a larger turbo.

Just like how superchargers and turbos make VTEC virtually useless since you've got all that top end power coming from forced induction. Besides, the SR20DET is an easy engine to squeeze power from compared to a Honda engine. Blah...LS/VTEC, Spoon cam gears, Jun cams, Mugen ECU, etc, etc is a lotta money for n/a tune that produces pretty disappointing results if people want major power. =/

it's possible.
i talked w/ my friend who owns an SR'd S14 and he told me it was possible.
