easiest way is to either go to a book store and get some books. or take some classes. i would say take some classes because most of the time you get hands on.. and someone to explain those things you get confused about or just simply dont understand

I second taking some classes. or if it isnt your dd just get a book and take your car about and learn how stuff works and identify different things. or go to Howstuffworks.com

yea best way to learn is hands on.
take some college courses. Golden West College has Automotive classes u can take. theres even an engine rebuilding class.
other than that, www.howstuffworks.com

Definitely look at your local community colleges and trade schools. Books can teach you the theory of how cars work, but you must get hands on before you can truly understand it.
