So i went to autozone today and asked them for a 95 Nissan Sentra SE-R oil filter. I have a s14 sr20det and i was told by plent of you that this was the right one for my engine. To me this oil filter looks way too small! Can you guys help me out?

Yeah, it reads PH6607. I'm looking at the one thats on the clip right now, and it looks twice as big! So i'll be fine with the one i just purchased then? Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it.

The Fram piece you bought will do just fine, although I really wouldn't recommend it. I used them on my SE-Rs back when I was into B13s. I'm currently using an OEM filter made for the FWD SR20s. Yea, it's smaller than what you're probably used to, but the filter will work just fine. I'm on my third OEM FWD SR20 filter, and not once has it popped. I should say though, that I have an S13 blacktop, so I'm using the oil filter made for the 1991-1994 Sentra SE-R/1991-1993 NX2000/1990-1993 Infiniti G20, which were all high-port SR20s, except for the 1994 Sentra SE-R, which had a low-port SR20 but used the high-port SR20 filter.
For the S14 SR20DET, I'd order a filter for a 1995-1998 200SX SE-R/1995-1996 Infiniti G20/1998-1999 Sentra SE, which were all low-port SR20s. So it seems like you're on the right track, but just go with OEM from the next time onwards.

Ok let me fucking clear the air
AY100-NS004 OEM NISSAN S14 SR OIL FILTER
most dealerships wont be able to pull up the part number, but using many other resources(google) you will find that it is the same as:
VQ35DE&HR(Z33)
SR20DE(B14)
QG18DE(B15)
MR18DE(Versa motor? idk)
VQ30DE(Your mom's maxima)
QR25DE(your buddy's spec-v)
fuck i just went the extra mile, the following part number will work at the dealership: 15208-65F00
and there are more but thats not my main point.
aftermarket companies usually fuck up, the other day a guy looked and found that KN was selling the same filter for the GA18DE (non se-r sentra motor) and listing the same part number for the SR20DE of the same model (aka Sentra SE-R).
Next time take a look when your at vatozone, those aftermarket companies dont always have their shit straight, and just one different letter or extra added to a model number can throw you off in getting the right shit.
all this you could have found out with the search button.
Didn't your mamma ever tell you size doesnt matter? How you use it counts?

#1 fram filters sux, those fram filters would pop off on my sr, dumping my precious mobil 1 all over the street, thank god for an oil light. the threads on the ph6607 were too far recessed for my sr to get more than one or two threads to hold it onto my oil filter bracket. i use 240sx oil filters, they're bigger and the threads are almost flush with the o-ring.

ok man you can use the z32tt filter and it will work fine get either wix or amsoil. you might pay a little more but the filter starts working right when you put it on unlike others that you have to wait untill it builds up in grime before it starts to work properly.

Whatever you do, don't use a Fram oil filter.

haha yeah, im going to take it back today! I think i'll stick with the OEM filters. This is my 1st turbo car, and i don't wanna get something thats not gonna run properly. So just go to my nearest nissan deal and give them the part # correct? :)

11-02-2007, 01:52 PM
well if its car specific then no, just put on a 300zx tt oil filter if the reloaction is for nissan then pretty much all nissan threads should fit it. and dont go to the dealer unless your ready to get fu*ked in the a$$ on the price. if your running the sr just go with the 300zx trust me thats all i have used on my car and its worked for the past 2 years

Wix and AMSoil would be your best bet... the part number for AMSoil EAO38... if you want you can order it online straight from ams oil and just give them my dealer number to make things easier. #2014788

Alright cool. Thanks. Is there any place i can go to so i can save myself the shipping? Really appreciate it. I'll check out that site.
as far as oil filter relocation - depending which one you use. I got one from Summit - it uses filter from fords - shit is huge. PH8A - same thread as nissan.
as far as oil block go with tomei or CS block with AN out.

I found this on the internet (searching for oil filters) came up with this. Alot of you guys say to install OEM oil filters, after reading this I think I might stick with K&N oil filters for my SR.
