OK i did the research and found that the blocks are the same. Hench the KA24~ prefix, I just want to verify that the heads are interchangable.
Basically i'm not going to turbo it and as for machine work and what not that's not a problem. Price isn't an issue here.
I'm not going to turbo the 24e block 24de head engine.
I just want to know if swapping the heads is doable? and if anyone have done this or know someone who has.

i to have heard of it and my friend tried to do it, the blocks are diffrent by one thing iirc. there is a part on the block were the a/c bracket connects to is bigger iirc. it would be easier to just go find a dual cam block and do that. hope this helps

While the head does fit on the block, that's it. The lower timing covers don't match up, and on DE heads you have an upper cover, whereas an E head has the cover made into the head. The E engine uses a distributor that's driven off the oil pump through a shaft, the DE distributor is driven off the idler gear, which is also different. The cooling passages don't line up either.
There's no way to make it work without heavy machining of a lot of custom parts. People are confusing using the E pistons in a DE block. Not the same thing.

Thanks i appriciate your input.
what a waste of a perfectly good E engine.
