First off I have searched the shit out of this. I think I have my answer but anyways I just want to make sure.

I have a base S14. I just got a "SR20" VLSD pumpkin with 5 bolt axles.
Should just bolt up after switching covers. I let my friends do the work at there auto class. They found that the axles are different lengths and the teacher basically said no after because that they don't match up. Blah blah. So we just put the stock stuff back on.
Just getting back home and when search about this. I just went and looked my axles and there different lengths....

My question is that does the S14 have different length axles too?
Also does that mean there a driver's and passenger's side to the axles?

Off question about gear ratio with diff came with the 4.3 gear ratio??

Thanks

yes there should be 2 diffrent sizes. look on the axels and there should be a R or a L on them, iirc the longer on goes on the passenger side.

All axles are unequal length, if you look at the car the diff doesn't sit directly dead center, so one is always longer than the other.
The 4.36 ratio was found on R32 GTSs from what I've seen.

Doesn't that cause toque steer?? My friends don't believe that all axles are unequal...

Does the S14 axles have different sizes too?? I'm guess so.
I'm at work so I can recheck some of this stuff.

go under your car and just look, you can clearly see that both axles are not the same length

no, the s14 axles are the same length as the s13.

They're actually a hair longer, though not enough to matter.

As to the OP, your friend is a fucking moron if he thinks torque steer can be had from a RWD car. Slap him in the face with your penis.

Also question to anyone that knows

Could I just switch the output shafts from another S13 usdm vlsd to my jdm s13 vlsd?

As long as it's VLSD, any output shaft will fit, 5bolt or 6bolt.
