View Full Version : Odd Wiring Question. S14 SR with S13 SR Harness?

I'm thinking most of the sensors are the same. And the only thing that won't work is the VVT. Which won't work with bigger cams anyways.
The thing is, I have a ton of S13 Harness' laying around, but I don't have a S14 harness. Its proving to be very difficult to track one down thats not $500 bucks. Then I still have to find the ECU, and who knows how much that would be.
I would be using a S13 SR ECU and Wiring harness.
Any input? Anyone done this?
Thanks in advance.
Tyler
**Oh, and I tried to search, but having S13 and S14 in the same phrase, means pretty much every thread comes up. ;)**

i've done both swaps every which way you can think of, but i wouldn't try to use an s13 harness/ecu to run the s14. try jarco or lethal injection for an s14 harness/ecu. the maps would be totally different so you'd have to get it tuned etc etc etc, and it'd be an unneeded pain in the ass quite frankly to try to convert it over. it's kind of one step shy of going to radio shack and buying wire and tape and making your own harness. not worth the hassle
another option depending on how much power you wanna make out of this thing. you could also get an s14 harness and get a power fc and that'll take care of the ecu need.

i'm in the same situation right now. my friend is helping me with the swap, using an s13 sr harness on an s14sr motor. just have to make a switch for the vvt to turn on and off. will find out soon or later if it works. if not, i can always buy a new s14 harness and ecu.

Yeah, I figured at much... But I do have a SAFC 2 and Wideband, so I could check to see if its running to lean/rich in certain area's. I mean, the maps can't be that different, they run the same size injectors.

Let me know how this turns out, when do you think you'll be done?
