So my brother moved my car yesterday and when i went out to go to school the car would not start. i was messing with the ignition and it started ONCE but now nothin
heres the situation.
its a 89 hatch, the battery is definitely good (lights are bright, accesories all work properly) the lights check out when you try to start the car (open door, seatbelt, etc) but there is no power going from the ignition to the starter, starter is not clicking and has never shown any signs of going out.
there is some play with the enitre ignition itself, it wiggles (nice word choice i know) and like i said i got it to start back up ONCE by messing with it
i figured it was a loose connection so i took off the plastic cassing around the steering column but everything looks good, the 2 wires on the right side as well as the 3 on the left. im not sure what goes where but i was wondering if anybody has had this problem, or knows what could be going wrong. the only other thing i can think of is replacing the ignition itself, what do you guys think?
any help is greatly appreciated
