I finished my setup yesterday SR, 20G, DW 740cc, Z32 MAF, and Enthalpy tune and everytihing was fine. The car idled perfect, pulled hard and stayed pretty steady A/F readings. Today i change the oil and put in a new battery and take the car out for a spin. First off i notice a slight hesitation taking off. Then as i near 2700rpm accelerating slowly there is a bad stutter and the A/F gauge goes completely lean until 3200rpm where it smooths out and A/F goes almost completely rich. Under hard accel it stutters all the thru 2200-3400rpm then goes rich and pulls hard. Any one know why the car would go Jekle and Hyde on me over night? Im thinking bad maf but it was working great yesterday. Maybe daughter board came loose?
Thanks for any help.

Well i started the car this morning before work and checked for boost leaks and any obvious loose connections and nothing. The car idles perfectly at 800RPM, so im guessing its not the maf. It starts breaking up sooner now around 2500RPM and if i hold the throttle steady anywhere above that it just goes lean and stutters. If i accelerate hard it goes smooth at first then stutters thru 2500-3400RPM then smooths out, goes hella rich and pulls decently smooth. Anyone? Thnanks.

sounds like ignition issues. Check the plugs/coils.

Just got home and turned on the car and it seems to be getting slightly worse. Idles fine still, but what is weird is if i gas it hard it goes thru the RPM's flawlessly and pulls like a champ, but if i give it light throttle it breaks up terribly. What affects the motor at light throttle that dosnt play a part in heavy throttle applications? Thanks and let me know if you get any other ideas.

SR20DEs do have plug wires. For some reason, Nissan decided to stick the SR20DEs (FWD/AWD/RWD) with distributor-based ignition systems. The SR20DETs, however, were gifted with the DIS (direct ignition system). Just throwing out this information for FYI purposes.

we all know the DE has plugs, id say about 2% of the users on this board rock DE's, when someone talks about an SR with 740cc injectors, its safe to say hes rocking a det.

Try adjusting your TPS (if you need an FSM pm me)

Roger that. I'm still rather new to the RWD SR20 platform. I worked on them, but didn't actually own one until late 2006. Before that, all I was exposed to for the most part were the FWD SR20DEs/DETs (Sentra SE-Rs/200SX SE-Rs), and around 2005 purchased my first S13 (that one I retained the KA24E with). I am mostly on http://www.sr20forum.com, but I do linger here learning more and more about my second S13 and building and tuning my DET accordingly. I wasn't very sure as to how many people here knew or worked with the DE platform. I do appreciate your clarification.

start it and start wiggling plugs and wiring harnesses and see if it hicups. jiggle your ECU too.

I would check your TPS first! Then I would change/regap plugs.

I done all the jiggleing, except the ECU so ill try that, good idea. Ill check the TPS and i put in new plugs the day a installed the new setup. I pulled them to check for fouling or detonation last night and they where spotless. No color change except around the thread tip like normal. Thanks again to all of you, im just hoping i get this fixed before i miss the 3 days of cool weather we get a year down here because turbo cars just pull so niiiiiiice in the cold.

Problem fixed! I did everything mentioned and nothing so i decided to go buy an o2 sensor since it is one of the cheapest places to start. Installed it and bam, fired up like champ, idles clean and revs smooth. I want to thank everyone who helped and im glad theres people that take time out of their day to help a stranger. BOOST TIME!
