which output shaft goes on which side of diff?

i got a diff with no outputs. and i am trying to install my output shafts in the diff. does anyone know if the longer output goes on the drivers side or passenger side of the diff?

yep i bought s14 output shafts from a vlsd from m rmcgarrett( thx btw), and i didnt know which one goes on which side.

i did figure out that the longer one goes on the pass side, but i cant get the passenger side to sit all the way down, i lubed it and its like thats its final resting spot after tapping it in. and its about 1/4 off. will this cause any trouble/damage/or oil leaking? the dust shield on the output shaft doesnt cover the seal.

If it doesn't sit right, don't use it.

Get the right output shafts, don't try it without it.

i measured them up with another vlsd output and they were the same. and i am nearly certain mcgarrett sold me the right shafts. and i installed the vlsd correctly

anyone else got this problem with there output shafts?
