Widebody Kouki Build

Well, since I posted up our shops Drag Car, I figured I would post up the drift car. :)

This was built over the course of a couple months, and right now is just waiting on the wheels to get here, FMIC piping to be made, a couple minor suspension pieces.

Car has S14 SR, with GT2871RS right now.. Might move up to 20G. We'll see.

18x10.5 +3 and 18x12 -3 I'm going to have to run a 15mm spacer up front to clear the Z brakes. So.. -12 up front. We'll see how they fit. Probably have to bow the overfenders out more. Who cares though, I'll make them fit. :)

Wheels should be here this week. So I'll get some updates soon.

But.. What size tires do you think I should run? I picked up some Goodyear tires for super cheap, 275/40/18. So thats what will go on the rear at first, but I was thinking maybe 285/35/18's? 295? Who knows. I want the car low as shit, so we'll see.

yeah, you should have cut up to the line, there is no point, if your going to cut your wells you might as well do it all the way to the top of the well, so you actually become flush with the well, so your overfender, is your only fender.

Engine bay/Interior was base clear. Two coats base, 3 coats clear.

Well, got the wheels on today. Found some tires that will do for now. 275/35/18 in rear, and 245/35/18 in front.

I still don't have RUCA's. I was going to order some, and didn't think the wheels would be here so quick. So.. I'm trying to pick some up locally. If not, I'll have to order them asap.

Still have to grind down the lip on the Fenders all the way around, and lower the car more. Much more. Just can't without RUCA's. :(

Oh, and I know the pics suck. I'll get some more tomorrow. It was dark, and my friends car was in the shop getting finished. Oh, and thats not me in the wheel. LoL..

Yep, car is staying black. It was actually just painted black. It has blue flake it in that is the same color as the engine bay and interior. Its just hard to get on camera.

Why? They are not setup properly yet. I don't have RUCA's on there, so they are on stock arms. I can't adjust shit. They will be just fine.. They aren't even that close, just close to the inner lip that will get taken off tonight when I have time.

and do a 225/40/18 on the front

okay for future reference don't toss on those michelin tires. the design is totally a rounded tire edge. See if you can pick up some BF Goodrich or something in the same size. All the different tire companies have different edge shapes, even tho the tires may 'measure' the same. This is how some guys stretch better then others. Nice job tho. Can't wait to see the car completed and running.

Yep, its Agressive. And also stock grill.

BMagic front and rear. I'm actually not sure exactly the size of the rivet. I have a bunch of sizes laying around, and I went with which size fit the best in the dimple they provide on the overfender.

The reason I ask is because the rear doesn't look like 50mm and I can't seem to find any that are smaller. I want to go widebody but I'm not feelin the 50mm and was wondering where he got them from.

well you can adjust the fenders as much as you need to

just get 50's and push them in and rivet
ya know?

the fiberglass rear fenders have a lot of adjustment and you can push the fender in to make it even +10mm if you want

Yep kit is Origin.

And fenders are BMagic. Front and rear. I originally thought the rears were 50mm. They have no markings or any way to identify them. But the more I look, the more I think they are 30mm. Or I just pushed them in too much when I installed them. But I installed them when they were relaxed, with no pressure, so who knows. In the end, it worked out ok. :)

I'm sorry, I missed this post.

But I didn't connect the light to the fender. I have brackets that hold the corners to the frame. They would be very hard to ge ta picture of without taking the fenders off. But when I recieved the fenders the location to attach the lights were broken. And they were very brittle anyways, I don't think they would have held up.

We custom made the exhaust. You can get the blastpipes though. They have a pretty close look, and you just weld them on to your desired length.

well like i learned from HellonFire and a few other widebody guys here, when i was geting ready to do my own wide body...,
if you drift .....you crash.... if you crash ....and the damage area happens to be rear fender, and you had it riveted it on, guess how easy it would be to rip the panel off , buy another one for 150 and rivet back on, and you dont even have to repaint the car just the panel..

now if you molded it...
wooohh... get ready for some moneeez and lots of body work...
and of course re-paint the entire rear end to match
and plus riveted looks more agressive anyways..

I didn't have a wiring harness, or ECU. Had a couple extra S13 Sr's laying around, so threw it in.

And next time, I will go with a lower profile tire in the rear.

I kinda forgot about this thread. But I got the car tuned and it made 300BHP on 9psi and and then I turned the boost up to 18psi. I would judge from my butt dyno about 400-450hp with that setup.

Took her to a couple events, built the head, replaced the rings, and took her back to get tuned. Unfortunetly it blew up on the dyno. They took it to 8200, and I'm not sure if thats what did it or not.. But I put 1k miles on the motor before it went up there on the old tune, and it had no issues.

Oh well, I'm rebuilding it as we speak but figured I would throw these vids up here.

And in the vids, my rings were shot, and oil was getting on the plugs, thats why its breaking up so bad. I didn't have power worth shit.

The interior was done by first using dry ice to get the sound deadening out. The a heat gun and chizel for the stubborn sections. Then a wire wheel to get it perfectly clean.

We have a paint booth at my shop, so its really paint not spray cans..

Wow.. Long time again from an update.

Well, so I got my car retuned, and made 360WHP on 14psi. I don't want to go any higher, becuase the bottom end is stock piston/rods. Fully built head though. Its fine for events.

Then I blew an injector, and the car sat for a long time..

I just ordered a new injector today, and will finally get this car back on the track at the event coming up on the 7/8th.

Car is now caged, and took all the stars and shit off, so it doesn't look like this:
