the seats are different. look carefully, on the portion you sit on the bolsters on the Z go all the way to the edge, the GTR they dont. they look the same cuz of the bulge for your balls.

I really like the Idea of the Front Engine Rear Tranny All Wheel Drive set up. as far as it not being available in 6sp is ok so far. its a twin clutch paddle shifter guys it should be pretty damn fun. not i really gotta get to studying that or sell a kidney lol

what the heck!?!?! the new GT-R comes w/ bridgestone potenza re070 which was only available on most WRX STIs...
i guess they are decent factory starter tires... very low treadwear though... but that goes w/o saying since this is the new skyline...

as for the paddle shift, I rather have a stick shift, but for all performance perpouses its better off with the paddle shift.

Runflats, to appeal to the local country club members. They dont care if the damned thing has Azeni 615's, they cant get a flat and ride to the Nissan dealer with those.
They might actually have to change a tire!!
Imagine some awesome rubber would do for the ring times.

I personally dont think money is a concern with this car. They arent gonna make any kind of money off the actual sale of the car.
It all comes down to whats gonna get the few they build out of the showroom, and how the car makes Nissan as the brand look.
They are gonna struggle to appeal to the Country Club scene as it is, because who wants to pull their golf clubs out of the a Nissan when the guy next to him is pulling his out of a Porsche.
Nissan is looking to change that idea though. Rich people LOVE runflats. Absolutely love them. Even Z06's have them, because rich people dont want to jack up their car. They take it to the shop to do that.

ARGH~!!!!!!! ITS NOT AUTOMATIC! IT HAS TWO CLUTCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I talked to the creator of the GT-R. He stressed for like 15 min of the 20 min interview about how much better the Dual clutch transmission is better. He said it shifts as fast as an F1. I understand what you guys are saying about how its not going to be as fun but how often does a car maker design something that helps the car get around the track faster? The GT-R even has a built in lap timer. It really is my new favorite car.
Make sure you guys visit my site to see the rest of the GT-R photos and photos from my trip:

just because its f1-like paddle shift, doesnt mean its what people want.
there should always be an option, especially when it comes to having a manual transmission. there are still many instances where a manual transmission is desired.

Mike dual clutch F1 Paddle shift does not act or perform like a automatic trans because its not an automatic trans.
I said this before I will say it again. You gus really need to study F1 transmissions. Or even watch F1, if you did you see that the cars can do burnouts and they can feather it. They can do donuts with it. It acts and feels like the fastest shifting manual you have ever seen. The problem is most of you are stuck in dinosaur mode when it comes to transmissions as is most of the general public.
The only thing it eliminates is the actual clutch pedal.

DAVID...
I did not compare the R35 transmission with that of an Acura TSX Type-S tiptronic BULLSHIT, I compared it with exactly what its advertised to be: an F1-style paddle shifter.
The point I was trying to make is, that manufacturers need to offer a manual transmission, ALWAYS. The Carrera GT has a manual transmission, and the Carrera GT is an awesome car. I dont care about flipping pedals, I care about one thing: having that fucking clutch.
So please, dont misunderstand what I'm writing. Thank you, David. :-)
ps: For those wondering, I dont like features like that of the E46 M3 SMG transmission, where you pull both levers back for X amount of seconds, then you press UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT B A START, I dont want to enter the contra code to do a burnout, go into reverse or "LAUNCH MODE" - I just want to drive a fucking car.
I like the new GTR. But, I know that too many people are going to go crazy, buy them, play them out, and then they will be boring because the new facelift model will come out, then the R36, etc. Instead, I prefer cars that are simple and gimick-less. Not saying the GTR is a bad car, just not for me.
