Why not angle the turbo down?

That was the original plan. But it would have required cutting some of the frame, and cutting/welding the water neck. The way we have it now was the best solution.

nice, whens it gonna be done?

Should be done in a week or so. Waiting on V Band for the Turbo to Downpipe, as well as a couple misc. Parts. Then tuning. :)

What mounts did you use?...

Duy (with the +1000HP 2ZJ S14) says that the Supra motor will sit on the stock mounts just fine...

:)

Very nice, what are you building the car for?

Eh, drag, and seeing how much we can get out of a stock block. When this thing blows up, we'll fully build the motor.

What mounts did you use?...

Custom Mounts.

other than the pictures, what have you done to it?

I will post up everything else soon.

Some like to keep it Nissan (so they pick RB), and if they pick a 2jz they tend to end up as a drag setup. Some see the 1jz to be a little more of a headache than a RB25 because they have to route their exhaust differently....

Thats just my observation.

OP: Nice build! Like the cherry she sports ;)

^^^no need to come off as a dickhead.
as far as motorsets go....1jz is generally cheaper and ive seen them go from 800-1500$. so in that respect 1j would be cheaper. as far as mounts/fab/wiring go, thats where the 1j swap becomes expensive. but it all comes down to if you can do it yourself or if you have to pay out the ass for someone else to do pretty easy work.

Looks pretty baller... would have liked to see the compressor clocked though, those pie cuts, while functional, take away from the whole "custom motor swap/custom work" appeal. Sure is a good feeling to have it start right up though :)

Definitely going to be beast.

I'm working on a 1j s13....not nearly as complicated or expensive as I had first thought. Mega props to you for going all out with the 2j and the big turbo. Is that a JDM or USDM 2j? And what clutch setup are you using?

Your absolutely right, their are not too many FINISHED ones out there, mine included...my engine sits next to my car on a stand till I have enough $$ to buy a clutch, gaskets and some other random crap to be sure I do it right the first time. But I remember there was a thread on here a while ago where I guy had his running and driveable until he crashed it...I searched and heres the link: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=110473&highlight=1jz Maybe in the next couple of days I will start one of those long ass build threads with tons of pics so everyone can see.

just exterior shots of it parked before he got the te37s, like i said its my friend's old car so i dont have much on it, it was fast as hell though stock with just a tune, my friend joe had a rhd s13 sil-face coupe with a 1jz too which i actually rode in and it was scary fast, especially cuz there were no passenger seatbelts in it. anyway not to thread jack so to the op, i love jz powered s-chassis, nice build are you going to run aero even though it is a drag car?

:rawk: thats is one of the best 1J options to go with. 280tq @2400rpms!!!

Amuse has a complete tune up kit with a GT3076 (69 AR) that hits 490hp on a dynapack.

most people don't go with a vvti. parts are harder to find and are different from the older engine. and i've heard wiring is a lot harder. i would pass on a turbo KIT. just piece it together. the hardest part would be the downpipe and that's not very hard. buy one or have one made

if you know where to look its not hard, just expensive.

yeah the motor doesnt have a HUGE amount of parts for it (there is only one cam kit that allows the vvti to stay in tact), but talking to some of the aussies part wise isnt all that bad....

just expensive, just like a 2J. If anything happens to the bottom end you can do a 1.5J
