Holy wow! Although I don't have the cash either (actually, I do, but I'm going with suspension before engine... call me crazy! ) I have to give you guys at JDM Recycler two BIG <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'> for bringing this kind of good stuff to us. Top notch stuff... and again guys, I can vouch for this guy's validity as I've been to the warehouses and seen the hardware.

Also-- I hope to put you in touch with a friend of mine who's looking for a DC5 type R engine, so expect to hear from me in a few days. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

I assume this (quote) means it includes body panels.
Or by "silvia conversion" did you (david) mean convert to RHD and not necessarily with panels?

HI ..
This is koji... I would like to get your e-mail David N. I want to talk further about potential purchases. I need 1 sr20det black top clip for a s14. Give me the price for both the red top and black top. IF red top please let it be s13 with lights panels etc. No major dents to the point where I have to throw away the panels and or I have to take the panels for major body work.
e-mail me at

I will try to call but no garantee.

Yes, I saw the DC5... it's beautiful! I imagine it's chock full of JIC-magic parts too, eh? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> &nbsp;
Since you guys seem to be importers of JIC-magic, this seems a fitting question for you-- Do the FLT-A2 coilovers have an optional "circuit-spec" spring rate? I'm under the impression that regular FLT-A2 springrates for S13 are 7k/5k f/r.

Adey~ &nbsp;I believe the FLT A2's come with 8/6 k spring rates. &nbsp;I know that John at JIC will be able to order what ever spring rates you desire . &nbsp;He is awesome at suspension setups. &nbsp;

B18C1ek~ I sent you an email. &nbsp;I currently have another gentelman asking about the same clip so please let me know what you prefer. &nbsp;

We just blew two motors this weekend racing, &nbsp;so part are avail to anyone needing SR engine parts. IE. .. head, turbo, h2o pump, etc....

Hey there,

Right now I'm looking for s13 silvia front fenders. Do you have any/sell them seperately from clips etc.? &nbsp;

Also, do you ever get any of the old school j-spec rims?

Sayuki~ I have a pair of fenders avail. &nbsp;Asking $375 since these are very hard to find sold seperately. &nbsp;

do you have a website for your shop I can check out? Yoshi~ At the moment we are developing at website. you can check out some pics on the link posted at the begining of this thread. You will find prices and pictures on the link.

The best way to have all your questions answered is to call me direct on the telly (714.713.1749).

MY $.02 keep the S13, do and SR swap and your face will look like this everyday going sideways:D <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>.

damn stop making me want to keep my car. Such hard decisions, but damn... how in gods name do you install the SR in such short time?

Theoreticly (lol) if I were to drive down from my residence in Washington... and take my car to your shop, you do the swap in the day, is that going to be guarenteed or anything like that? Assuming maintence is very well taken care of, and the engine isnt being abused? Do you replace the belts and fluids and what not?

You seem very proffessional, and you show it strongly through your detailed and heart filled (dunno why thats there?). Well it seems as if it would be worth the trip to LA for your expertise of the SR.

I will hopefully be in contact with you shortly. For some reason something drastic happens (i.e you get close to running out of SR's and wont order more) please contact me through PM... I may be able to get the money...

Davies, How long will you guys be providing this service? I'm planning on doing an SR swap but can't 'till January. Will you guys still be importing engines at that time?

If I buy a whole clip, do I have to spend money on any other parts that may be needed can everything from it be used(ie:intercooler, powersteering pump,fuse box, etc...)? Oh, by the way, I have an S13 Hatchback.

Hey Dave, do you think you could import some R32 Skyline GTS-t clips (I belive this is the model without AWD and RB26DETT)? I have a few z-buddies interested in RB swaps. Could you give a ballpark figure on that?

Wpayne~ my intention of opeing JDM Recycler is to continue to offer the best wholesale direct pricing. &nbsp; I have a 5 year lease on my building so January should'nt be a problem for us to find you a clean clip. &nbsp;Please give me one weeks notice before you are ready. &nbsp;I will ensure everything is perfect for you... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Crab Spirits~ &nbsp; "kojiosuna" koji and some friends drove over 6hours from San francisco to see you clip neatly sitting in anticipation of being shipped out to you. They wanted a Silvia clip but you got the last one. &nbsp;I'll notifiy you of any shipping date I may have.

kojiosuna~ Thanks for visiting JDM Recycler today all the way from the bay area. &nbsp;I hope the parts you picked up will help your car make it to one of our track events. &nbsp;let Ken know that I will put him on the list for the next Silvia shipemnts. &nbsp;

I have one S13 black top for sale if anyone is interested. &nbsp;Has 88km was sold to local customer but he decided on an S14 swap instead. It's up for graps for $2600 complete swap...

Crab Spirits~ &nbsp;Can you check on the exact engine code (ex.. The R33 and R34 GTS-Ts came with the RB25DET. Only R32, 33 and 34 GTRs came with the RB26DETT.

The R32 GTS-T is RWD with the RB20DET.

Adey~ if memory serves me right you will not need a spring compressor to install the JIC Magics. &nbsp;Simply remove the stock struts and re-install the new JIC's . they will easily fit since the coilover setup is naturally lower then the OEM struts. &nbsp;Give me a call if you have any trouble installing.

David-

It seems that you have container ships from japan delivering your clips, do you put anything else in these containers... maybe some brides? hah Just wondering, might be a nice present to go along with the SR. Im hoping to road trip it from WA either around thanksgiving or when I get out for Xmas break I believe the 2nd week maybe 3rd of December. This one day SR install just sounds too good to pass up, and I look forward to that date. Do you do anything to guarentee running, by this I mean replace belts, fluids, make sure everything is clean and running?

Thanks,

I can't speak for David and JDM recycler, but I do believe they're open on saturdays. They were open this saturday, at least, and one of the owners I spoke to said that yes, they are (usually) open Saturdays.

Hey davies, I'm looking forward to an SR swap this winter. I'll let you know when I'm ready. How long does it take to get engines. For example, if I wanted to get an S14 SR20DET.

Oh, one more question, if we just pay the $1200 for the install and buy a clip, will you have the car up and running in perfect shape for that price?

Thanks

davies2k
09-30-2002, 01:27 AM
Saga~ We are usually open on Saturday's, but this week we will be out at the racetrack for the SCCA regionals. If you can stop by some time during the week it will be best. I used to go to a korean club called Saga... I miss the ole days... Unlimited booze and foxy ladies.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>

Adey~ give me a buzz anytime if your stuck on your efforts to install the JIC'S. Should be a simple 17 or 19 mm on the bottom and Two 14mm on top. It should slide right under the car.... lemme know

Wpayne~ In "MOST CASES" $1200 for the install should suffice for a basic install IE.. engine swaped in and running. AC is extra since it requires some wiring and welding.... As for as being in "perfect shape," I'm not certain what you are referring too. Most of the cars that leave the shop, will start, boost, and sometimes an occassion celebration drift in the parking lot( at discretion of vehicle owner), but beyond that i'm not sure what else we can do to insure perfection. We have at least 4 container/month so availability is not an issue. Your payment for the clip is the determining factor for timely delivery. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

*** I will have 5 more SR clips avail this Monday.. Please call to reserve your SR motor.. B16A are still on special pricing at $900 for complete swap. Call for other honda inquiries I have ton's in stock.***

I am very interested in a Sylvia clip (or complete motorset if that's cheaper, since I'm just a poor college student) for an S13 Fastback, especially at that $1900 price. I tried emailing you, but didn't hear back, so figured I'd post. Hit me up with info on the cheapest ones you've got or are going to get, as well as what shipping would be to area code 206 (seattle). If shipping to a dock or other nearby city decreases shipping that'd be great, too. Any help would be great, so thanks in advance. My email is [email protected]

Thanks Davies. Your description of the cars leaving was good enough:). So I wouldn't have to pay extra for a downpipe or intercooler? Just want to get all the facts.

Also, I would like an SR20DET from an S14, preferably a whole front clip with as low mileage as possible. And is there any way to prove how many miles were put on the engine?

How much do you charge to get the A/C up and running?

Finally, when I reserve a clip, what do I have to do and how much of a down-payment do you require?

Thanks!

How much do you charge to get the A/C up and running?

Finally, when I reserve a clip, what do I have to do and how much of a down-payment do you require?</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
Let me see what I can answer for JDM Recycler... I hope you don't mind, David. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'>

1) You don't have to pay extra for IC and DP IF they are intact and useable on the clip. that's why it's so important to put your deposit down early, and get the low-mileage, good-shaped clips when they come in.
If IC and DP are missing/broken, you will (I imagine) have to source them yourself.

2) The Front Clip comes with dash board and gauge cluster -- you can see for yourself how many miles are on the engine/tranny! Unless you mean actual, PHYSICAL travelled distance -- in which case you'd figure in the distance from Japan to wherever you are. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Adey~ your answers couldn't be any better . &nbsp;Thanks!!!!

Wpayne~ To have the Ac up and running there will be an extra $200 charge to re-weld some of the piping and wires. &nbsp;As for down payment, I would like to see at least half the price of the clip. &nbsp;Lets take on average $2000/clip. &nbsp;I would like to have $1000 as a deposit. &nbsp;In the past we have brought over various clips at customers requests and were stuck with them for over 6months because the customer backed out. &nbsp;If we have your deposit you will be insured of having Premium choice clips. &nbsp;

Shaway~ as far as prices go, it veries with every shipment. &nbsp;Since currency fluctuate so to the prices of each clip.. &nbsp;If you are seriously interested I can reserve a cleaner clip at the price you are inquiring about. &nbsp;Again, if deposits are made early I will offer a $150 discount!!!! &nbsp;Shipping is around $500~700 to your zip code. &nbsp;

Phlip~ At the moment we are completely sold out on S14 goodies. &nbsp;They are usually the first to be sold since they are so limited. &nbsp;

Thanks for reading my posts,

Been lurking the forums for a while finally decided to post...

Anyway Davies my step brother is gonna be wanting a b16a and your considerably cheaper then anywhere so Ill let him know about you.

And on to my question - I am thinking of doing an sr20 swap into my 240sx and was also thinking of doing the silvia front end conversion , do your clips have the body panels/ lights for that too? &nbsp;

AND When I will be buying this if I give you enough notice would it be possible to get a lower mileage motor and if at all possible try to match close to the color I have? Just curious on that one.

You can email me at [email protected] I also wanted to know how much shipping would be to 97055 . Thanks alot.

S14lover -- AFAIK, no SR20DETs had variable valve timing in the VTEC/VVTL sense; they had some sort of variable cam timing or something like that.
However, the new(ish) SR20VE has variable valve timing.

Um... no, s14 SR's had VVT like he says.
Here's a lil paste from heavy throttle:

Horsepower: &nbsp;220hp at 6000rpm &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Torque: &nbsp;203 ft/lbs at 4800rpm

Turbo specs:

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Compressor: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housing

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Turbine: T-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R turbine housing.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Center Section: Ball Bearing

Variable valve timing system and a different turbo are the significant changes from the S13 SR20DET engines. &nbsp; S14 uses 'low port' intake design vs. S13 'high port' design.

Dave, tried calling your cell but it wasn't working.
I got the clip today, the body parts don't look like they made it through the trip so well. I guess that's understandable though. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sarcasm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sarcasm:'> The hood got flattened pretty good. Do you have another one you could hook me up with?

I am missing some parts too. I am missing:
corner lights
intercooler assy w/recirc valve
pipe from IC to throttle

On the plus side, the clip came with an intact 3" downpipe on it already. Since I don't really need the blitz DP, maybe we could work out some kind of trade for a aftermarket blowoff valve you might have or something? Give me a call when you have a chance.

Damnbump~ &nbsp;As for converting to RHD I would recommend you buy an entire clip to convert rather then cutting the firewwall. &nbsp;You run into safety issues when you cut the FireWall. &nbsp;When we convert to RHD we use the entire clip and use the OEM weld spots to reattache the car as a whole. &nbsp;I have several bare clips avail with all the necessary part to complete a swap easily and quickly. &nbsp;Better yet send us your car and we'll have your car done is less then 2 weeks full JDM spec.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> I am askig $350+shipping for the entire bare clip.."frame only"

David,

I want to get some pricing info from you. My S13 project looks like its falling through, so I need to start anew. The previous car had Silvia panels, but this one is going to need them. Basically, I need an entire S13 front clip--engine/tranny as well as body panels (and dash/steering if possible for the RHD conversion). The new project shell is auto, so I need everything to convert to manual (which is all contained within the clip, right?). &nbsp;Redtop is fine, and I want straight body panels if possible. Also, are the intercooler (side-mount) and downpipe included with the clip? &nbsp;I guess, basically what I'm asking is, can I drop it in and drive off, or do I need anything else?

I won't be getting this until the car I have now is gone (about a month), but I will be able to put down a deposit in cash or pre-pay when I decide on this (less than a month), if that makes any difference in price, and price is a pretty important factor <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>.

I'm "just up the street" from you in the San Fernando Valley. how much does "local" delivery usually run? Also, since I haven't dealt with this yet, how simple/complex would it be for the shadetree mechanic to do a RHD conversion on his own (as you can see, I'm trying to avoid installation costs)?

Thanks

davies2k
10-24-2002, 08:30 PM
chokudoriS13~ &nbsp;As far as Rhd conversions. please read a couple of previous replies in regards to this question. &nbsp;Bascially, everything you need to convert to Rhd will be included on the full clip... Again,it's all dependant on which clip is avail at the time you are ready to buy.. I currently have a list of people who have deposited and will have the opportunity for first picks when the containers are unloaded.... &nbsp;

For a DIY mechanic, it's very involved to successfully convert to RHD.. There are many safety issues involved when converting... The most important factor is to preserve the OEM crumple zones in case of an accident... &nbsp;

We offer conversion service and install of all JDM motors.. &nbsp;Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Dave, Im doing the swap real soon, looking for a good SR motor that comes with uncut harness and ECU.. The price as you said is about $1,900-$2,700, so what makes the difference in price? Im in New York Area, I was gonna get one from Heavythrottle.com, but they dont have any in stock now because of the dock strike. I'd make all kind of payment as long as i can get the best deal. May I ask how much you charge for the S13 RHD conversion??
I was thinking about doing the conversion myself, but was also concerned about the firewall cutout/safety issues... so I may as have a professional do the job right!
Also, although you're using the OEM weld spots to reattach the whole front, does cutting and rewelding affect the structural integrity of the chassis??
Thanks!

TheDorfitas~ &nbsp;The price varies with each conversion. &nbsp; With regards to the integrity of the car by re-welding. &nbsp;I am told that the car is acutually stronger since along with the spot weld's we complete the seam with a full weld. &nbsp;Many chasis tuning shops use this method on race cars. &nbsp;It's simply much stiffer and rigid.

I've pulled the engine and wire harness from the clip. Just getting all the details sorted out on the install. The clip was an obvious drift car. When I pulled the clutch I found a roasted flywheel and pressure plate, and a brand new stock clutch disk (Painted numbers were not even worn off the facing yet). Looks like they slid backward into something pretty hard cause it broke the trans mount. I've kinda reached a standstill while I look around for these parts.

If all you're waiting for is the IC, don't bother. I'll probly just go with the Blitz LM kit. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>

if you can get a very competitive offer on the ca18 det engine or front clip, I would be interested.. you said if you got enough offers you might be able to get it- well my engine is on the high side of 155k and is going the way of the crapper. &nbsp;I'm thinking about dropping a fuel cell and limited slip in and then just running the shit out of it till it blows up, then buying a ca18det with student loan money and hooking my car up.
irresponsible sure, but after lawschool I'll be 50k in debt either way, so 1k doesn't make much difference.
I know its possible to get the ca18det clips here for cheap- I've seen low mileage engine/tranny/ecu combo's go for under 800..... &nbsp;so if you could get the clip here for 1000 or at least under 1200 you would be a hero.

I've been watching this post for a LONG time now. First off, I'd like to thank you for offering these clips at such great prices. It's obvious you have a very sturdy business going, and great customer skills, and good prices. So here's what I need, and let me know how we can work this out. I'm pulling money out that I've been saving for a couple years now, and this will bleed me dry, but I've had to shut down my business (the economy sux), and I'm focusing the next 3 years to finish up school. Here's what I need:

S13 Silvia Front Clip
With Intercooler Piping, intercooler, and everything intact.
Would like sub 50k mile clip.
Including Silvia Body Panels + Lights
Non-projector Headlights
Optional OEM Aero Front Bumper w/ lights and bumper support
http://www.jspec.com/s13aero2.html
Also one of those VLSD Subframes you have.
Shipped to Houston, TX.

I'll be ready to make a purchase within the next month. I can wait as long as it takes for this stuff to be located, and a deposit is not a problem. Let me know what kind of deal you can work out with me. The body panels DO NOT all have to be the same color, and I would like to purchase this all at once!

Dave, I've contacted you before on this board and told you that I intend to do a swap.

I want to do an S14 SR20DET if possible. When is your next shipment after the Dec. 10 shipment? I might be able to make a downpayment on the Dec. 10 shipment but that depends on what is still available.

If not, I'd would like to make a downpayment at the begining of next year for your next shipment that comes in January.

W payne there is more than just the turbo and ponies. Fuel maps are obviously slightly different. The s13 and s14 have diferent style intake manifolds. If im correct the s13 is a highport and if you intend on keeping the stock intake manifold it does have better flow characteristics than the S14 and S15 manifolds. If Davies2k doesnt have the motor you are looking for you should check out my forum for motors. Just tryin to be helpful.

Ditto. &nbsp;I'm ready to make a purchase. &nbsp;Quick question though... &nbsp;How quickly could I get a front clip delivered to me? &nbsp;I've located a good shell, but if I don't make it happen within the next month, it won't happen for 7 months. &nbsp;I've got to have a reliable car to get to and from school, and I'm moving for a semester. &nbsp;So, I have to purchase the shell, and do the swap before the 5th of January, or I have to Locate a strong running s13 coupe before then.

So, same question as before. &nbsp;How much for a CLEAN s13 front clip w/body panels, and non projector headlights shipped to Houston, Tx. &nbsp;And how quickly could it be sent here? &nbsp;I'm buying one through ya'll either way. &nbsp;Just depends on if it's a deposit for THIS shipment, or one 6 months from now.

From memory, to the SHOP (not warehouse/office)
60E exit Santa Anita. Left at the light,
Go over freeway and left at first light,
Left at first Stop Sign,
Go through "park" area, down about 1/4 mile then take the 90degree right turn,
go straight and make a right on "Al Paca" or something to that extent. It's an industrial estate, you could say.
ABCD/JDM Recycler will be on the right, about 3 garages in.

if you get lost, don't blame me. =)

Dave,

Is it possible to obtain a S14 front clip? &nbsp;

If your cool with a down payment I would gladly do it. &nbsp;I'm looking for a S14 front clip at a good price, but I really don't intend on doing to swap until spring/summer. &nbsp;Let me know if you can obtain a clip. &nbsp;I can always wait until spring or summer time.....buy then I have the ALL money saved up and ready to go. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'>

SilviaDriver
12-12-2002, 08:29 PM
i havent read the whole post, but do you have price numbers on the clips, not exact but varying numbers. i found a s14 clip for 3800 with 22XXX miles on it. i have personally checked it out and it looks clean and good to do. if you can beat that in any way,ill be sure to go check urs out as well!

Thanks

Mixedwell~ &nbsp;Yeah La Puente is very near us. &nbsp; Stop by again can say hello...

GT Spec R~ S14 clips start at $3000. This includes the full clip from the e-brake forward.

SilviaDriver~ &nbsp;We should be able to sell you a S14 clips for considerably less.. &nbsp;$3800 is a fair market price for a low mileage S14, but again we are trying to offer wholesale level pricing...

David

low mileage redtop front clip

Also, how much would the price change if I had you guys install a new clutch(that I will buy from a friend) when I get the SR put it?

David, you mentioned that you do Spot Welding/Seam Welding when you perform a RHD conversion...

I was wondering if you've had any experience Spot Welding the chasis on a 85-86 Toyota Corolla GTS(AE86)?? I've read in many Japanese mags that spot welding the AE86 chasis greatly improves the structural rigidity.
Just wondering if you've ever spot welded an AE86 chasis, and if so, how much??
Thanks!!!

adey
02-04-2003, 02:26 AM
Since it seems like David hasn't been around for a while, let me see if I can at least partially answer some of these questions...

Sykikchimp, I do believe David and JDMRecycler can get you S15 subframes and HLSDs, although it may be special order, as I'm not sure if (front) clips come with rear subframes. S15 clips (and they have had a couple come and go) generally come with all shocks and brakes, possibly some of the rear arms, but subframe/LSD... might be tough (or take time). If you need answers fast, I'd recommend calling David. :thumbsup:

TheDorfitas, JDMRecycler do spot welding, roll cage installs, clip-to-clip weld/installs, and all sort of funky stuff... if you told them where you wanted the chassis spot welded, I'm sure they could do it for you quickly and for a reasonable price. If I had gotten my frame pulled with them, I would undoubtedly have gotten at least my front shock towers spot welded as well, but as things turned out they didn't have space/time for my car and I had a deadline, so I ended up getting a half-assed job done somewhere else. Give David a call, and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help you out!

turboex~ Thanks for the kind words.. your clips should arrive in a few days.... If anyone has dealt with a good reputable frieght company please chime in .... :D

saga240~ our specials are Top Secret I will announce them as they become avail.. in the mean time call for promos we may have.. or just stop by again and visit...

S13wannabe~ YEs we have Toyota MR2 clips avail.. let me know what generation you are looking for..

sykikchimp~ Still looking for mysterious Hlsd? I only have one avail. but it's for the S15 clip... I will let you know if anything special pops up... How are all the JIC suspension goodies working on your cars?? Post some pics for us!!! :)

TheDorfitas~ Yes we can perform custom chassis stiffening for you... We do it on all of our race cars and what an improvement it makes.... We will basically sand down the seams to bare metal then spot TIG weld the seams with beads and repaint ... Please call or stop by for pricing since work jobs vary...

yeah.. still want that hsld! I have money sitting in the bank with your name on it.. simply waiting for you to say.. hey.. I got it!

Need the Diff, and output shafts. nothing else. The reason I was thinking about getting the whole subframe is that I hear the s15 subframe has a lower roll center.. Do you know if this can be grafted onto an S13?

I ended up going to JDM Recycler's warehouse this past week and I have to say, it was definately fun! I brought along a few friends, and we ended up staying a lot longer than we originally planned. But I guess that's what happens when there's a bunch of neat cars (ranging from a Soarer to a Buddy Club Civic) around, and someone as nice as Dave explaining all the little knick-knacks about each. And the cool thing about everything was that me and my friends were free to roam around and just look at whatever. Needless to say, it's a place I wouldn't mind going back soon!

Fortunately for me, I'll be back this Monday to exchange a rear set of shocks because I ended up getting OEM Nissan Tokico ones instead of aftermarket ones. :o Should be fun! :)

sykikchimp~ I wish I can make by black ITR shine like that. :) We will be planning a trip for Asia to hand pick our next shipment. I will make certain that your HLSD is on that container... I will up date as I have confirmation for you....

I thought I would repost this message from another thread... Since, it has been brought to my attention that many members have used this lengthy 7 pager as a resource for JDM information.

TheSparo wrote,

“JDM Recycler
do they offer tech support and make sure their engines work b4 they send them? r they as good as heavy throttle? would u trust them? thanx if u can help!
-Jeff”

TheSparo~ As an importer/wholesaler we will offer you the most comprehensive testing available to insure your clip is in certified running order.
As a new policy, prior to any shipping or installing of any clip we test start and run all of the clips for at least 2 minutes. During this time we are listening for any irregularities or signs of a weak engine. We still continue to perform our routine leak down and compression test on all of our motors.
On our next large shipment both mike and myself will be traveling overseas to hand pick our shipments. We are in the process of fabricating a simple fuel delivery system to simply attach to clips allowing our overseas counterparts to test and run every clip that is sent to us. We will be bringing our test equipment and show our suppliers how to test and insure we are receiving the best possible clips.

i paided $2300+tax+shipping. i thought i was getting the cluster,pillow mounts,coilovers,brakes,lights etc.. as the clip was showed to me. i didn't even try to deal and brought the cash about 1-2 hours later. the clip was delivered to me that day( i live a city over). when it came all the parts were gone! at the time he said nothing about stripping it off the parts that made it a really good deal. this guy jsaon said it was company policy to stripe it before they deliver it. now there was a clip they were shipping out that day that still has all that stuff intact. oh the oil pan was dented to. but he had said he lifted the clip up to check the oil pan.

so my experiance with them is not good. i saw some of the parts up on ebay after i got the clip. am i going back to get another clip hell no.

Meme,
I am glad to hear you recieved your clip the same day you purchased your Clip.. In order to offer the best prices around we do remove all of the non essential parts for resale. Jason did mention to you that if you would like the parts that he would offer them to you at a highly discounted rate to appease your needs. As for the clips you saw packaged with all the parts intact. Those are mostly for our customers who do request all the parts and have paid for them separately.

As for the terms of shipping. We are not a licensed shipping company and do not do door to door shipping on a regular basis. Before we prepare any clip for shipping we always inspect for any missing parts, broken parts and also check for "dented oil pans". In your case you did not have your own shipping company and wanted the clips ASAP. Jason in efforts to service you volunteered our company truck and trailer to deliver the clip to your garage without any heavy lifting equipement at your place. As you know you had to basically slide the clip off our flat bed trailer, which probably resulted in a dent in your oil pan.
I think this is minor considering a shipping company would have prolly charged you over $500 to deliver this size clip to your garage on the same day.. what you saved is definately worth 30 minutes of your time repairing the dent on the oil pan.

If you havent done so.. repair work on Sr oil pans is extremely easy.. basically remove all the 10 mm bolts that hold the oil pan to the block. Clean the excess oil out of the inside of the pan, using the handle of a hammer knock out the dents against the floor or a flat surface.. Thats it.. :hammer:

This would have prolly been much easier for you then spending the time on this forum spilling your short sighted frustration on this thread. Please vent your concerns through the appropriate channels. If you any question please contact me directly.

Regards,
David

Maybe all the extra "non essential" parts should be removed before showing off the clips if it's not made EXTREMELY blatantly clear to the customers what all is considered "non essential"? I realize its a waste of your time to remove these extra parts if the customer wants them (by paying extra), but how on earth can someone decide to buy a clip and yet not realize it'll get completely stripped of all the goodies unless they pay extra for them?

Ouch, getting a little defensive there. This kind of unprofessional attitude is why I went with another clip seller located in SoCal in the past. I dealt them down and made sure that I was getting what I asked for.

He almost sounds worried that his companies image was hurt by someone posting a review. Thats life buddy. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I personally had a good experience with David / JDM Recycler. I purchased my SR20DET front clip from them and had it installed through them. The swap was fast. My engine runs great. My AC is cold. It was a good price. I can't complain.

I believe the buyer has a responsibility to find out what he/she is buying also. (Come on, this is not a small amount of money we're talking about.) We discussed with David on exactly what I'd be getting while picking out my clip. I was VERY clear on what I was getting. At the end of the swap, I got exactly what I paid for, nothing less. I think it's definitely worth the time to ask questions.

David went out of his way to help me during the swap and I appreciate it. Thanks.

not saying the motor was bad. just that i pointed to the coil-over and pillow mount and nothing was said about removing it. i never said anyting about shipping. i was fine with the shipping service that jason did. my main problem was that the parts that made the clip such a great deal was thrown out the window. i did not try and deal to get a lower price. he told me the price and came back with the money.

you as a vender should be saying ;hey i'm sorry for the missunderstanding and will try to service you better next time. and to think i was thinking about getting an s14 clip from you.

i didn't ask about the parts before paying because i thought it was included. that is my mistake so hope others learn from this .

just because jdmrecycler post on the forum doesn't make him a nice guy (not that you are bad; i do not know this guy) but you just meet this guy.so to all be carefull and ask questions like the guy above said. my next motor swap i will have to point at everything and make sure

as the last guy said "I believe the buyer has a responsibility to find out what he/she is buying also."

it should also be the sellers responsibility to tell the customer that the so called " nonessintal" parts are not part of the special price as advertised.

so this is not really a special price.

this is business, you will always have happy customers and not so happy customers. how you respond to customers complaint shows how big headed you are. like you are alwasy right. hell you weren't even there to see the clip that day.

that first post was meant as a review. not talking **** and putting down your company. just letting others know what top look out for

the end for me.

AWWW!! is good to be back again. Race season is finally over and now Xmas is around the corner... For those who have been asking if we are selling clips the answer is YES!!! Tons of them.... :D :D :D:D:D

Just a recap and update on this years list of events:
5 Championship wins at the Mexicali GP and Tijuana GP, and Mexicali. This is a FIA sanctioned group that hosts Grand Prix style racing south of the border... a must see for "Grippers". It's probably the best racing south of the border tons of spicy tacos and 10,000 fans to cheer you on... Wow did i forget to mention the ladies!!!!

Tom (Speedtrialusa )and I both hold our SCCA track records at Buttonwillow... the record has not been beaten for over 1.5 years now it makes me :D knowing no one has beaten our Buttonwillow track time.

We have been traveling extensively to Asia in hope to harvest the last of the SR20Det breed.. As supply in Asia is diminishing we have be more challenged with finding usable clips to import.

The good news is we have over 150 clips available for the xmas season.. I have attached a link to the pics of the clips we have in the warehouse.. I am expecting 3 more containers within the next two weeks. We are filling up the wHouse....

Just a thought if someone would like to coordinate a get-together drop me a line I will see what we can do at the wharehouse.. maybe a bbq or something.....
\

Enjoy Happy Holidays,

David is located in South El Monte, somewhat near San Gabriel, in LA county.
I've not purchased a clip from David (yet), but I've made other purchases (in excess of $1500) and I can say that he's definitely an honest seller. Their warehouse is like a playpen full of JDM engines and other toys... anyone in the area who's considering a clip should definitely go down to his shop/warehouse and check it out!

mbmbmb23 - last I checked, yes, David does/did stock S13 clips w/ body panels. Worst comes to worst, he could probably piece together a front end body panel set for you.
And yes, 714 is LA, CA.

I've been talkin to several different companies about my SR20DET and haven't picked one specifically yet. I am a buyer looking for an engine/JDM s13 front end swap. I was really impressed by the $2500 installed deal you had about a year ago.

Hey, my KA just seized up, so I guess I'll buy my motor a little early. Lol, you still have the full front Silvia clips for 2500? Also, where is Rowland Heights? Do you have any pics? (this might be a dumb question) but do any of the full silvia clips come with blacktops? If not, im not really that worried about the variable timing. Last time my car decided to try changing its timing on its own, all my valves went crazy like so many black women's weaves. :axe:

Hey David!

Yeah, I've been really busy with school; haven't been able to play with the car (which needs a LOT of work!) much less buy nice pretty pieces for it.... I've been focusing on maintenance and upkeep. Oh well! I'll swing by some time when I have time.

Hope the racing's going well... Take care!

OH btw I'll be swinging by some time not too long from now to pick up some 180sx rotors... if you could pick out and pull off a nice set for me some time I'd be grateful. Cheers!

hey i was just browsing through, and i had a few questions.

are you expecting redtops in anytime soon? if so, does that come shipped with everything you need to swap, assuming i give you a down payment.

also, how much are they now, im not sure if your prices are the same as in similar posts. depending on how good the news is, i might be able to get the ball rolling on this by later this month :)

would there be any package deal including the motor and a LSD?

and a noob question here...on a "clip" do you get the dash, steering wheel, like a car literally cut in half? because im looking for just the motor, tranny, ecu, whatever i needed to drop into my car now. thanks for the help

Since I know david Doesn't come online too often, let me try to answer as best I can for him. To be sure, though, you'll have to give him a call. His number is listed somewhere earlier in this thread. (also try jdmrecycler.com, which is down as I write this, but may be up later)

Redtops:
JDMRecycler usually have a lot of motorsets/clips in stock, chances are that they have either an S13 redtop or blacktop available for you. S13 motors are all the same, the difference between red/black tops being that redtops are older. Aside from that there's absolutely no difference.
These clips/sets come with whatever you ask for, and price should vary accordingly. You can probably ask them to just ship out a motorset for you, although everyone agrees that a clip is easier since it will have a few peripherals that you may find handy come swap time.

Prices - you'll have to email/call. (not sure if he left an email address). I think each clip varies depending on condition, mileage etc. FWIW, I would expect to pay no less than $2300 - 2500 for a good working clip (not motorset - that should be very slightly cheaper). Again, I can't be sure, so get in touch with David!

As for LSD - You'd save on shipping, but as for price, I don't know what he can give you. Again, get in touch with him.

Re: clips--
Yes, clips usually come with everything forward of the A-pillars, sometimes if you get lucky, everything (almost) forward of the B-pillars. Keep in mind that sometimes there will be front end damage causing radiators etc ("peripherals) to be damaged. Usually body panels will not be useable without repair.
So - Yes, it usually comes with dash, steering wheel, ac and all.
Again, let me reiterate that you WILL need more than just motor, tranny and ecu to get the thing working in your car.

Good luck, and for more detailed answers give David a call!
