hey all, I just got my rims in, ssr dori2's and im in the process of refinishing them.
I purchased some aircraft remover, mothers polish , 600-800-1500-2000 grit sand papers, and went to work. First think i noticed is there is a coating on the lips from ssr, because the mothers polish was not working, so I decided to spray the rims with aircraft remover, which worked wonders for the center sections, but the lips seem to be the same. What kind of coating could they have used at ssr to prevent aircraft remover from working?

Also, for some damn reason even with all the hardware removed from the rims i still cannot remove the faces. has anyone had any experience with these rims before? they look like obvious 2 pieces from looking into the holes from the hardware, but mabe are they bonded with an adhesive possibly?

Thanks

its powdercoat clear... its a pain to get off... easiest way is to sand it off(80gt-120-320-500) and then go with 600 and so on up to 2000grit... i've done it a few times... its a bitch, but well worth it when finished

not powder coat. it's anodized. use E-Z off oven cleaner. works w/o sanding.
