Has anyone used any of their really "mechanical parts" yet?
I've got the exhaust hangers, and I know they make exhaust.
I saw this just now on Phase2.

I have a set of their coilovers. superlegit and high quality stuff. i wouldnt hesitate getting other stuff from them, i think they are just like powered by max, just a small company selling good stuff at good prices.

A good friend of mine has their exhaust. I think it's one of the best sounding in my opinion and it has a distinctive tone that's a little different compared to other exhausts.

I was not ripping it, I was just making a passing comment.
I have their hood dampers, oil feed line, coolant feed/return lines, and outlet elbow... I don't have any complaints at this time.

there was one of the v1 shifters in one of the s13s i owned, it kept busting that bottom bushing, plus way to stiff.
and i installed one of the v2 shifters in a ka swapped carolla for a guy, it is ok nice.

10-28-2007, 07:39 PM
I have the v2 shifter ITS JUST LIKE B&M the only thing that is bad but cheap was the bottom plastic peice.. it has 2 slits making it not durable at all so i replaced it with an OEM one, stronger plastic no slits

I'd suggest just having the dp you currently have shortened slightly.
If done properly it will be as tight as a twelve year old.

I also have the hood dampners and overflow tank and i have to say I would't hesitate to buy some of there other stuff

I just installed their cross drilled slotted rotors and I can't say theyare brembo quality because they don't have the heat wire uon inspection between the rotors in the vents, but used them at a AutoX event today and they were awesome, no fade what so ever or rotor run out.

10-29-2007, 01:58 AM
what makes their dp hard to install
its one complete unit, elbow and down pipe... it doesn't come apart so it becomes a pain in the ass to install.
the original company that came up with the design idea has a version available where the elbow and downpipe are two separate pieces.

ive had their 5 lug conversion kit for the front. the bearings went out after four months use. but it could have done so because of my negative camber. put some nissan bearings in and havent had problems since.

I sell circuit sports and run the circuit sports downpipe on my own 180, the best downpipe ever! It deff has a different sound...I would go with the version 2 shifter exact replica of the b&m.

^^^ haha yeah phase 2 makes a lot of grammar mistakes on their website.
I have the CS quick release, exhaust and coolant reservoir tank. its all good stuff.
i did try to install that one piece down pipe, but couldnt get it to fit. for some odd reason, my SR is sitting differently in my current 240. the DP was hitting the floor plan, making it impossible to bolt up to the turbo. i know for a fact it wasnt the DP problem, but something about the car itself. the reason why im saying this; the CS downpipe has such little room for clearance, its a PITA to install.

Anyone got a sound clip of their exhaust?
HalveBlue
10-30-2007, 01:07 AM
I bought their clutch bypass line a few years ago.
The quality of the threaded fitting left something to be desired. I think I stripped the nut after 2 or 3 times.
I went down to EVCO (local hose place) and had them build me the same line, with better parts, for $10 less than what CS charged.
You win some, you lose some.

Thanks for all the supporters for CS products. While some products over lap with knock offs on the internet or Ebay which is also a knock off, and a knock off of a knock off of a knock off etc. in essence you do get what you pay for even though the stuff might appear to 'look' the same. However, to differentiate from the Ebay sellers and contradict the statment where CS products are "whatevers you can buy on Ebay", CS does their manufacturing and product development for items that aren't offered on Ebay for the same products with a different name, most what you see are sub-vendors that are re-selling the same CS items in the Ebay market but definitely no competition for the same part.

Bottom line is some of the CS products are actually hard to knock off, simply because it will cost them too much money and risk to do so in essence of price v.s quality. The other reason is the 240SX is a niche market, compared to EVO or WRX for instance, it's really small so alot of companies doesn't even bother on a business perspective. However, being that we have been in business relation with CS starting 5 years ago working with other projects for other people making products for NON 240SX market, we were able to have CS actually make some stuff for the 240SX market that's worth a damn and not costing an arm and a leg. Surely some stuffs on the 'accessory' side might look just like everyone elses, but they only offer it just because they can and on the grounds that the price is at a very affordable level where product name, service and quality stands behind each CS products. All products comes with one year full replacement warranty, exclusive from us at Phase 2 Motortrend Inc. This also applies to reseller/vendor of CS products that we work closely with to extend the product network nationwide.
I am sure most of you are probably tired of seeing the same products that's offered by many name branded resellers that actually sells the SAME thing over and over, but not with CS products. You will not see people replicating the whole CS products lines, actually they probably don't need to when they can work with CS branded products and will be easier to just resell them and save the hassle.
Product development takes time, from planning to manufacturing, product testing and production. We always work with CS in thinking what new products we can develop with them and bring for the 240SX market to keep it interesting and alive.
Upcoming new products that will be coming from CS which you WILL NOT SEE in any reseller or anyone offered in the market for the 240sx (or at least not the same product design)
1. RHD U.S spec bolt on brake master cylinder stopper
2. S13 front under main subframe brace
3. S13 center transmission double bar under brace
4. S13 rear subframe / differential brace
5. S13 rear side cross-frame brace
Yes, more under braces will be available for you S13 people. The S13 model 240SX has become very popular sort of like a classic car, we intended to keep it that way with many product support and will keep developing and releasing new products for the market, unlike other people merely take what's available and made from China that's not worth a damn, put a name to it by adding a few dollars on Ebay. Some stuffs ain't bad, but just want to make a point that CS is not to be look at as one of those Ebay fly by night companies.
Lastly, we specifically work with CS to bring products at affordable prices. Granted some of the stuff could be mark up alot higher just to keep a high end image, but we dont plan to play the image game. Straight up good prices, good parts is what we are after, and CS plans to keep it that way. CS does not live off making products for the 240 community, in general it's more of a service. Bigger money is made by larger OEM manufacturing contracts that has completely nothing to do with aftermarket auto parts.
