Laptop video card question

I know some of you guys on here are computer gurus. I have a question for you guys. Lately my video card on my computer has been real choppy and the sound is shorter than the video I am watching. I would like to get a new media card, my question is "Are they upgradable in a laptop?" Let me know if I need to open one of those drivers and show you whats in there to make a descision, or where I should look on my laptop to unscrew things etc.

you usually cant upgrade anything but ram and hard drives on a laptop the video card is usually just a chip in the motherboard try updating your drivers for sound and video.

video card drivers can be found depending on the brand you have

after you find out the model of the card you have and who makes it you can download the correct drivers from the website above.

^ditto. Reinstall/upgrade all the drivers for the sound card and video card.

I don't know of a laptop off the top of my head with an upgradable video card. They're almost always embedded.

You can however upgrade your sound card if you want. They make USB sound cards and PCMCIA sound cards. I would go with PCMCIA if you can so you dont have to have a USB device dangling (dongling perhaps) off your laptop.
