hey guys,

i just got my 240 after weeks of searching <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> and i'm planning on putting some shocks/springs in. &nbsp;i did a search on springs to get and i've narrowed down my choices to H&R sport and the eibach prokit. &nbsp;it seems most people have the prokit but i can't seem to find much about the H&R's. &nbsp;does anyone have them? &nbsp;if so, would you recommend them or are they any good? &nbsp;i kind of like the H&R's better because of the lower drop. &nbsp;any help is appreciated.

Get the prokits. &nbsp;Eibach is the most popular because it works and they are the #1 in the industry. &nbsp;If I was going to upgrade, I'd probably get the prokit as well. &nbsp;I was told that it has a very nice ride. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

H & R springs supposedly give as uneven drop. &nbsp;My cousin's MR2 and my friend's Mustang are that way and they have H & R.

No the Eibachs are popular cause they're cheap. &nbsp;The prokits drop the car moderately and stiffen up the car moderately. &nbsp;They do neither to expectations.

H&Rs drop the car about 1.4 inches and stiffen up the ride considerably. &nbsp;A lot of people use them for racing applications I have them on my S14 and I autocross often and am very happy with the way they perform. &nbsp;Very flat. &nbsp;I've never heard of the H&Rs dropping the car unevenly but I guess it is possible with any spring. &nbsp;I admit I wish they would have dropped the car a little bit more, it looks good but I want that flush look although it is probably the result of having 16 inch wheels on there.. &nbsp;When I go to 17s it'll look much better. &nbsp;I'd actually like to get some kg/mm linear springs that would rock. &nbsp;Or maybe some tien coilovers in the future.

What shocks are you pairing with the springs? &nbsp;Remember it isn't just the springs that make a ride it's the struts too. &nbsp;Don't slack on the struts get something that'll hold up to the springs!

IMO the prokit isn't realy worth buying, they only drop about an inch and have a pretty firm ride. If your going to have that firmer ride, you might as well lower the car the 2.2" that the sportlines give you and get rid of that damn huge wheel well gap that Nissan engineered into the 240. And Rownan is right replace your struts, there's no point in replacing your springs if your struts are wore out........kinda defeats the purpose.

I don't know about that. &nbsp;It seems to be consensus that going lower than 1.5" up front is really not worth it without an adjustable body coilover or short stoke strut that will allow for a full damping stoke. &nbsp;Either way the front stut travel is very limited, and removing 2" from that makes for a very harsh ride. &nbsp; Plus the sportlines aren't really stiff enough to cope with that drop. &nbsp;Any serious perfomance driving will be testing the bumpstops frequently.

i guess i should've mentioned that in my original post... i'm gonna get tokico blues for shocks.

i don't like the sportlines too much because of people saying they're not stiff enough. also i think the drop is too large and will cause major scraping. i dunno...

anyone else have experience with the H&R's?

rownan --> how much did the springs actually drop ur car?

i have prokit + tokico blues. check my sig for a link to tons of pictures. if you have a S13, i might advise getting something besides prokit, but if you have an S14, prokit is perfect for daily driving purposes. i frequent the track quite often and while i would like a stiffer setup when i'm competing, i'm very happy with the way it is for everyday driving. &nbsp;what people are talking about with the H&R uneven drop is not a side to side but front to rear. don't ask me why they do this, it makes sense for the setup to be "raked" on a fwd car, but on ours, i dunno. i would trust H&R though, if they made a cupkit for our application, i'd be all over it. personally, there are probably only 2 spring manufacturer's i'd buy from, and H&R and Eibach are those two (remember eibach makes GC's springs). anyway, for other ?'s, let me know.

I supose that depends on what you doing. If your into serious racing then go for adjustable coilovers. I just wanted a nice aggresive suspension for street application and the sportlines are plenty stiff. My car corners like it never has before, but then again I don't take it to the track and test it's limits. For as little as I paid it's a fairly good setup.

naw, i'm not into serious racing and i intend to use my car as a daily driver, so coilovers wouldn't be a very good choice.

i have an s14. thanks for clearing that up about the H&R's uneven front to back drop, tnord. i was a little confused there. but don't springs usually drop the front more than the back? eibach says on their site that the prokit drops 1.2/1.0, while H&R says theirs drops 1.4/1.3. but then again, in application it's not going to be necessarily that low. i checked out your pics of your car, looks sweet. how big are your rims? &nbsp;

sxtasy, have u ever scraped your car when going over speedbumps or on dips? i'm just really afraid that the sportlines drop the car too much.

Didnt you say they actually raised your car? &nbsp;what springs did u get then...i'm just being curious.

ok i have a question that follows this idea.. i already marked off the sportlines.. but what if i wanted something stiffer than prokit but didnt lower too much more than that.. with the n1 dual i dont wanna scrape going over speed bumps and i already scrape if i go too fst backing out of my driveway so...

i have eibach prokits on my 89 coupe i wish i went with my original plan and just bought coilovers instead of springs struts bushings etc etc

I'm actually considering the Sportlines for my S14. &nbsp;I asked AceInHole who autoxs and he said they are OK w/ some decent struts/shocks.

yes...i am aware this convo is over a year old....

but that save me from the SEARCH flames...i did.. eleven results,
i checked carreview.com and im pretty sure I am down with the H&R's. But my question is, has anybody mated this with AGX?

I can get the pokit, sportlines or the hr's at roughly the same price, all be it ill have the hrs a week earlier. So im a little undecisive.

A little help? Anyone ahve the AGX/H&R Sport setup?

You might want to try Whiteline springs, I ve heard nothing but good things about them.
