i bought a 1992 240sx Coupe from a member on 240sxforums a little over a year ago. It was a complete shell with no motor, a busted out rear quarter panel and missing the quarter panel outside cover. i quickly bought another glass piece and cover... i bought this car because i was wanting something that i could wrench on myself. coming from a Honda, 2002 Civic Si Hatchback, i was always a little nervous on working on it myself and breaking an expensive part.

when trying to find out what i wanted to do with this car, i figured, i wanted something that i could go fast in a straight line, and do some drifting if i felt like it. i wanted this to be a good overall car. i did all the work myself, with some help from my dad, and some friends. i first bought a lot of suspension parts, brake setups, and rims/tires and got to it. i found a lot of information here and other 240sx websites and i began... more to come...

thanks man... i have definately been taking my time... i have had this for more than a year. since then, i have done the suspension/brakes/rims/tires, fixed the rear quarter window... i was wanting to do a 1JZ swap, do something different, but my civic took a crap on me last december so i needed this project running quicker than hoping... now, my civic is running but i am going to finish up this 240sx.

it is funny... cuz my civic took a crap on me last december and i had it for 6 months working on it and it was at a shop for 4 months, and so i got another loan, after paying off the last one, and just recently started buying the RB20 parts. after spending the money, i get a call from the shop saying that they finally got my car running and i can come and get it. of course, i spent all the money and i wasn't going to sell anything i had just bought.

as far as building it, i don't think i am...unless i can store the engine someplace else (not in parents garage), lol. i was in a hurry to get it running cuz of the civic not being driveable. the tuner in me says build it, but i haven't driven the 240sx with the mods it has on it now... and i would like to get use to the RWD before going crazier than i already have...

yeah, i have already contacted JHOT about that. the person who i talked to was sorry that no one asked me if i had ABS or Non-ABS before i ordered the differential...but they have some driveshafts on the low, and they have helped me a lot, so i don't mind ordering from them...

Pictures are worth a thousand words. I did not make this thread to be critiqued on punctuation or sentence structure. This thread is not only for my enjoyment, but for others who may just want to look at pictures with a brief description. I do not do write-up's or do it yourselves. I do not really have any kind of way for this build to be structured in this thread. So if this thread confuses anyone, I am sorry, I will try and remember to use proper grammar while making comments about my pictures.

Thanks for the advice and hopefully you will still make comments on my build and not worry too much about my e-grammar, but enjoy the pictures.

lol... that is weird...

but after doing the suspension and brakes, i feel like i can do just about anything now. heck, after popping the hood for the first time and seeing all the crap there, i didn't want to paint the engine bay... but when we started getting the stuff out that i wanted, it was smooth sailing from there...

well, a little update...

money was running low and last week, someone totaled out my 89 Jetta in front of my house. luckily, the person had to be towed and the insurance gave me a rental car and is going to give me a check for the car. this check, will hopefully give me enough money to finish up the 240sx and buy another beater car.

so, i am just waiting for the check and this past week, i got the skyline axles installed and am waiting to hear back about some differential bushings...

update:

bought radiator, exhaust, test pipe, SPL differential bushings today... all that is left is intercooler, clutch, downpipe, tranny mount...

thanks...

as soon as i buy a tranny mount and install the crossmember, i can at least get it mounted in the engine bay...

hopefully with little to no scratches on the freshly painted engine bay...haha
