i am gonna start yo mod my engine soon and can of two ways, turbo the KA, or sr20, i have seen some sr20detts though, with twin sequential turbos, like the RX7 has/had. anyone know of anywhere to buy a kit for it or something like that? if it's not too hard i will get the sr20, but the ka has much potential as some know, so any info you have would be good, thanks

Waste of money, i'm sure there is a kit for a high price.

if you're just gonna drag race then get a single turbo, but if you wanna do something more along the lines of racing on a closed circuit or something it might be better to opt for the twins. I like twins

or save the money from buying a TT setup and buy a properly sized turbo and upgrade your suspension with the saved money. I guess i'm just too frugal in my tastes.

i wouldn't say frugal, your idea is more along the lines of logical.

Kids today... do you have any idea what the turbo lag would be with twins on our engines? Massive.

There was a guy on Ebay a while ago selling his TT setup for the sr20. He used two of the stock Garret sr20 turbo's and said they didn't kick in until about 5000 rpm.

Like the other guys said, go for a single and get suspension upgrades.

Uhhh... can u read dude?? He is talking about sequential turbos. eg ones that are supposed to decrease lag sompared to single turbo....

But yeah, whatever ca18guy said

Yeah I remember that, he said his lag was between 5000-6000 rpm... Considering the SR's redline is 7200 rpm... I dunno how fun that would be. Boost for 2000rpm and start shifting like a mad man

when i think of sequential twin turbos i think of one small turbo and a larger turbo together. thereby decreasing lag and optimizing throttle response and speed while racing on a course w/ lots of turns and such ie: closed circuit. And i know what you're saying ca18guy about the whole suspension upgrade but that has nothing to do w/ his question. he just asked what kind of turbo setup to get.

please don't correct me if i worded something oddly, i'm not too good at such things, but i'm sure everyone gets the general idea. thanks

yes the smaller utrbo is what cuts out the ag.. but someone mentioned seq turbos would cause a lot of lag.. that's not true. personally it's a nice thought.. but not worht the money i agree with ca18guy

kreator said it right, sequential, first off, not to be mean, but learn what you're talking about before you comment on it, secondly, most of oyu say one turbo, ok, sounds good, but garrett T25 isn't big enough, what size would you reccomend? PS, i don't mind a little more lag for better power, anything past about 3500 to 4000 is too much though, thanks.

Also, depends on what engine now doesn't it, my friend has a 72 malibu wagon with a blown twin turbo 454 in it, the bitch dyno'd at over 700 hp, not very much lag though, kicks in around 3 grand, now that thing is nice, beats anything we have ever raced. he took out 4 spark plugs and still whooped ass on a Z06 once at the track

for spool up at 3500-4000 ( and i guess u want full boost at that point) i'd say t3 or equivalent (i noticed sr people like hks turbos...)
