I recently did the swaps and am here to help out fellow 240 owners so here it goes. I went from a sohc to sr s13 blacktop. the after market alternator from autozone works with the sr. you just have to switch the pulleys with an impact wrench and bore out the tensioner bolt hole to fit the sr bolt through. As for the power steering pump you have to switch the pulleys as well and switch the mounting brackets. But only the dohc power steering works for this one. I hope this helps people out there that had my problems. Any questions pm me. ill try and help out here and there.

ya your wrong. the holes for the brackets on the pump for the sohc doesnt fit. it HAS to be dohc for it to work. I know this because i had sohc and had to go to the junkyard to get a dohc pump.fyi.

97 Nissan quest alternator fits on a DOHC ka with minor boring to the mounting ear and pulley swap, so in theory, it should work for an SR. The quest alternator puts out more amps.
Where's my rep lol j/k.

whats this with the aftermarket alternator? stock ka works, you just switch pulleys. And drill out the top hole. I've done it many times. And has been done and done forever. And for power steering to work. You need to have the sr brackets and tensioners for it to work, as well as the pulley for the correct engine. S13 SR and S14 SR ps pulley's are different.

i said the aftermarket alternator works which obviously means that the oem one works too. As for the power steering for the s13 your need a dohc pump for it to work.

dohc will not work unless you have sr brackets and tensioner. You can custom fab your own tensioner and bracket I suppose. Sohc will even come close to working.

like i posted above you jus need to switch the brackets and pulley and there you go.
