Hey, me again. I just got in my Bomz strut bar and i was so excited to put it on only to find that it doesn't fit right. There isn't enough clearance so the hood can't close without me forcing it down. I decided to take it off for now. Do you guys know of this problem or am I not installing it right?? Please help!!

How much clearance is there between the valve cover and the bottom of the bar? Assuming you have a KA there shouldn't be too much...
Any way we can see a pic?

There has to be atleast a good 6". I can't take a picture now and plus I don't have a scanner. But I'm pretty sure it's mounted correctly, it's just that the bar sits kind of high. If it could go down an inch, i'm pretty sure it'll make all the difference.

Do you have any adjustment at all?
Is there anything under the bar (between the plates and the towers?)

6" doesn't sound right at all....I've got around 3/8" under mine to the valve cover, but it's not the same make.

Yeah, I do have the screws and nut and stuff. I just have it adjusted so that it'll fit. Do i want to adjust it so that the bar is as long as I can get it and still fit or as short as I can get it? Thanks a lot man.

sounds like a case of cheap-parts-itis.

Yeah, could be but it does look like a quality product atleast...

... I think it's quite OBVIOUSLY a case of cheap (read: shit) parts. Come on, look at the name, what do you expect from a company called "bomz"!?! Try to return it and if they won't take it, sell it to the guy who's got his black S13 "type R" (zenki) for sale on ebay.
Actually I'd keep it in your trunk as a weapon to use against any rice cars you see parked around.
Suck it up and buy yourself a cusco/jic/more reputable company's product.
I could say more/worse things, but...

My fstb is the pilot motorsports version and it's maybe 2-3" off the valve cover (enough to pull a spark plug wire boot out about .5") and I can see that the under hood "fabric" panel lightly touches it while driving. It's not enough to leave a depression in the panel, but enough to leave light scuffs on the polished aluminum. With 6", I'd say you're well into clearance issues that sound like it's either the wrong part, or very poorly designed.

Well, I don't know if this helps but heres the link to the auction and it has pics:

I love where it says "Unlike the other strut bars on the market, Bomz Racing Strut Tower bar is 5 times Stronger than the others."

Hehe, shoulda just went with a reputable brand...

GUYS! I got it on and it fits good! The expert mechanic within me thought i had it one right but i guess not. At first I was trying to adjust the bar to make it the longest it can be and still fit in, so I just did the opposite and made it the shortest as possible and it fits totally fine! Well, like an inch above the valve cover maybe?

Sorry to waste all your precious time with my stupidity! I hope I will be able to repay you with advice (prolly won't want it from me . Thanks you all for helping none the less!

I took the car out drifting a little bit and taking some hard corners before I put the bar back on so I'm hoping i'm gonna notice a difference when I take it out next time . I'll let you know how it performs.

A front STB is not gonna help your car oversteer more easily.

Doesn't it help stiffen up the car so you have more control? Or does it give you more cornering capabilities?

Yeah it stiffens up the front a little, and supposedly helps your car corner better. For drifting you're more concerned with a stiff rear.

Ahhh~, I have seen the light!! Maybe I should've gotten a rear strut bar...

Thanks Danio!!
