i didnt want to jack that other guys thread about 2-ways but i was wondering if 2 ways can get "worn out". i searched and found that VLSD's can get worn out and are pretty much useless when they do. but can this happen with a 2-way? can anyone explain this to me?? thanks guys

ya i read that you can rebuild them but i was wondering if 2-ways get worn out like if you dont do fluid changes or do they just go bad all of a sudden ( like blow up lol)... i know it sounds stupid but im just trying to see why you would need to have them rebuilt

o ic, yeah i think you have to do a fluid change every once in a while but not like an oil change type of thing

I have a 2-way and I change the fluid every 6,000 miles. If you want a LSD w/o worrying about changing the fluid get a welded.

if your on a track with lots of heat and no diff cooler then it might ware out but if your going to be using a cheap diff oil then might be a causse for a shiort life on the diff.

The clutch plates in the diff get worn and need to be replaced(rebuilt)

Also the bearings can wear out creating a whining sound that is often misdiagnosed as improper backlash.
Bearings usually go bad because of low oil

the clutch plates are the biggest thing that needs to be replaced
